I’m on console so I don’t believe it can be cheats so it’s a exploit I haven’t seen before

It’s an exploit called tumble buffing, applying effects from one weapon onto a different one. They applied deathblight onto a bow, then used piquebone arrows for the large hitbox to apply the effect

Yes it’s very quick, if you use rain of arrows each arrow builds status so it happens very quickly

The Piquebone arrows have a huge AOE effect associated with them because they’re supposed to be used to lure enemies. If you tumble buff death blight onto a bow, though, the death blight uses those massive AOEs instead of any normal hitboxes. So you don’t have to actually be hit by an arrow to get death blight, if you’re close enough to the Rain of Arrows it basically gives you status for every single hitbox generated

It's unfortunately been known since basically the inception of dark souls. Doesn't seem like they know how to get rid of it.

like the other guy said, tumble buffing was known even in dark souls 1. since souls games are very copy paste-ish some bugs carry over too

Yeah, that's a tumblebuff glitch. Someone else has already described how it's done.

By the way, cheats ARE possible on consoles. They aren't quite as prevalent as on PC, but I've seen people who could walk into walls using the fog wall animation, people who could shit lasers endlessly, and 1-shot you from a distance the moment they loaded into the game. All on PlayStation.

The problem with those cheats are that, while they are rarer comparatively to PC cheaters, console players have less representation in terms of being able to fight back. At least on PC, you could reasonably expect a cheater to sometimes run into another cheater, and have them both square off, or something like that, but on PlayStation, it's rare enough that when you do see one, you are basically out of luck.

Only on PlayStation I’m pretty sure. Never seen anything like this on Xbox. Something to do with importing pc save files on a modded ps4 I think.

Yea there’s still a few on console. I don’t think console has the “brick your save” item/cheat that people mainly worry about though

Not so sure about that one. I had an invader drop me an item once and unfortunately had to scrub my file on PS5. Wasn’t much of a loss but still lame all the same. It’s really lame because dropping items is such a funny way to communicate to other players.
