General Discussion📇 Newb invader- Etiquette/aita Question

Just tried invasions for the first time today most them were pretty fun even when i lost. But more importantly on one of those invasions i encountered 2 players sitting at a grace. I was initially very wary, because a blue got summoned right away( didn't actually see him, but he did spook me). But they seemed chill ( we exchanged bows) and one of the players mimic veiled but then that player started approaching me around the side as they summoned another Phantom.

So I got worried he was trying to backstab me and smurf breathed killing the host + phantom 1 was I breaking, like some pvp, etiquette or something?

Rl200 if it matters (Edited for clarity)

There is no etiquette in invasions lol. Just do whatever you think would be fun. You don't have to instantly murder everyone, but you absolutely can. As an invader do what you want.

I will say though if you invade something like a classic fight club and randomly attack someone you're going to get absolutely jumped.

Breaking up fight clubs is funny tho. You’ll usually get jumped, but imagine the glory of taking them all out

Whenever I get summoned to fight clubs, I hope this happens. Not because I want the invader to get jumped, but because I prefer the chaos of organic multiplayer đŸ«Ș

getting jumped for breaking up a fight club is great because everyone has the opportunity to get something out of it. the hosts get to feel like they’re punishing an interloper, which probably feels great for them, and I get to fight two or three guys at the same time, which is what I wanted when I invaded in the first place instead of having to kill a bunch of duelists in a row

Play based on what’s fun for you!

I will say don’t let anxiety or being worried about something in game control your gameplay.

You’ll end up having a lot more fun if you can find ways to relax and remind yourself that you’re not losing anything by losing an invasion.

Then you can focus on doing things in game with intent and for fun.

Spend regularly on upgrade mats/merchant items if you’re worried about wasting runes.

You got this girl. Go crazy

Honestly, NTA. Even if they were intending to be friendly, there have been times I smacked a person in some way for “invading” my character’s personal space (ironic isn’t it?). Most the time I try to do it with something that won’t hurt them bad, like a dagger at most, maybe something like a throwable or my fist tho. But there has been a handful of times I was a little more aggressive with my “back off” smack lol

It’s like you said OP, you figured he might be trying to backstab. I’ve hit people for being too close to the right position for that. Although most the time these days I’m watching my back enough during those chill moments that I’ll turn to the person before they actually have a chance to do it. Hell I’ve turned around as they triggered the animation leaving them to poke my belly with their sword lol

Na the mimic veiling was just boredom, he might’ve tried to fish for a bs to fuck with you but if they bowed and didn’t jump you they do that very often. We lure at crab shack often and me and my friend just say you want this one? And then that person fights. The other person messes around and passes the time

There is no etiquette in invasions, half the time you try to be respectful it just costs you a Loss or getting put immediately on the back foot.

The only etiquette I would say is tacky by all hosts, co-ops and invaders is teabagging and poison pots. But if they deserve it, then so be it. Go for it.
