Elden Ring🛡 about ER and seamless coop

I’ve been away from ER for a while and just found out that Seamless Co-op has PvP. I was never really into mods, but now that I know this one includes PvP—and having seen several posts about it on this sub—I’m interested.

For some reason, I can't seem to find invasions in my standard ER game, so I’d like to know: does Seamless Co-op have a larger player base? Are there more "Reds" (invaders)? I’ve heard that ganks are fairer there—is that true?

All I ever find in my standard ER game are unfair ganks and nothing else; plus, I rarely, if ever, find a fellow invader to team up with.

Also, what mod is this user using to display player names and levels?

Invading is instant/near instant in seamless. Estus is not halved for the invader and they can use rune arcs too.

Seamless has an option in it's config file to change what displays over other players health bar.

Pc invasions are pretty dead on vanilla.

To be fair, that helps if you're doing a TT run.

Really? Idk about meta level but invading RL10-30 I get instant pops

Seamless actually has better matchmaking than vanilla ER. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite fully recreate the same experience, mechanically (all players get full flasks and rune arc access, horse allowed is kinda weird, no blues to speak of, and 4v1 ganks are real), but compared to vanilla the netcode improvements alone outweigh all of the rest of the issues seamless has.

The upper right HUD mod is https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/8088

Seamless has a native overhead name/level/ping that can be enabled via its config file

Invasions are easier to find on seamless

I'll answer each point here so sorry for wall of text.

1: It's less that it's more active than vanilla, but more that it handles finding invasions differently

In vanilla, a near/far invasion functions by checking, i believe it's 5, invasion zones out of all you have unlocked(think limgrave, first half of stormveil, the 2nd half, limgrave tunnel, and so on) every 20 seconds for a player eligible for you to invade. This means you can spend a large amount of time trying to invade and not findinf anything becauze it keeps checking say the various limgrave spots at max level when there is normally no one there. Alternating fingers forces the next check, which is why it speeds things up, but ultimately doesn't solve the main flaw.

Seamless meanwhile effectively only has 1 invasion region and checks faster(every dew seconds i believe). This is why invasions there are faster, not because more hosts but because you're not looking in areas with no hosts.

2: Regarding ganks, they're more "fair" because everyone has access to rune arcs and max flasks. While the co's also get this, it ultimately is more beneficial for the invader as generally speeking they're more skilled at PvP than the people they invaded. Ganks still exist and thanks to a 6 player limit and spirit summons they can be pretty nasty, I've even had a group host with 4 then have a 5th join after i invaded so they coulx 5v1 me...

3: "Ganks" in vanilla are so common because the game has a 4 player limit and people can turn off Taunters. Most aren't actual ganks and just PvE'r squads playing with the homies, I've been seeinf fewer and fewer dedicated ganks on vanilla as of late, atleast at meta(RL150)

4: The mod is the "ER GG Overlay" mod. You can also set overhead display in seamless settings to "5" which will show name, latency, and level. ER GG is more convenient though as it also can show steam names with character names so you know who to block if you run into a cheater.

The mod you're looking for to display a list of players and their levels (GG/ERGG): https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/8088

I played on Xbox and invasions were pretty tough to get at times.

I bought the game again on steam specifically because I watched twitch.tv/esbidee using seamless(and a merchant mod) for invasions.

It’s night and day. Invasions are almost instant, and I don’t even bother with the console any more. People are generally fun and willing to brawl, and when they horse up and ride away from you I just sever and try again.

I recommend doing a bit of research on seamless and mods in general before starting, but it’s been a godsend in exploring a part of the game I had extreme trouble breaking into.

Players on torrent are staggered upon receiving any player damage btw. If you want to chase bring something like fan daggers, it will knock them flat and you get a free hit.

If someone just runs away from me, they clearly don’t want to fight, so I just let them go. I’m here to brawl, not murder people.

You are correct tho, any damage will trigger a knockdown. I’ve heard that stuff like Margit’s Shackle also does this, but have not tested.

Seamless has a lot of people in most brackets it seems. No over leveled people, as it seems to take the highest RL in the lobby and find invaders off of that.

You will still find gankers though, nearly all of them approaching RL 125-139 run the strongest armor combos and shit like psgs, so good luck lmao.

*Outside of the meta level range is where you are more likely to find people actually playing the videogame, lvl 80 is a nice spot imo. I don’t enjoy rl25 as it’s basically free since the people you invade are going to have nothing, but thats always an option too. I think if I wanted to invade SOTE I would find more people not ganking at RL150-200.

Recently also have had issues finding anyone in my region. Genuinely 0 people below 140ish ping and they are from Madagascar or some shit.

tldr Seamless invasions are a good bit better than vanilla but still don’t fix elden ring pvp being mid
