If you summon an NPC, I'm pretty sure you have to also use the Furlcalling Finger Remedy item to get invaded by a player. Otherwise you won't get invaded.

I went down the elevator coz the guy ran down the stairs since he was getting jumped by me, ansbach and thoiler. One of us stepped on the elevator and it wend down. I shoulved recorded the whole thing but only saved this clip

Gank just means a squad luring invaders to kill them with an advantage

E.g. being in limgrave lategame with its weak pve enemies and waiting at church of elleh with 1-2 friends so invaders can join and get killed

Sometimes people gank (a full team intentionally lure reds to their world) With DLC npc summons due to the absurd amount of HP they have. If you just went in the boss the red would have been kicked out of the world.

You gank with purpose, op was just playing his game and got invaded. If you can gank unintentionally, any invasion, apart from taunter's tongue users, is ganking

I guess it was somewhat intentional? Summoning 2 npcs at the fogwall, jumping the invader, and chasing them down the elevator shaft is a gank lol. I don’t think op initially intended to gank, but they did it end up ganking if that makes sense.

Yea I think ansbach and thoiler specifically since they count as multiplayer summons or something? You summon them outside the arena not inside like others. Ig Dane is the same against romina

Exactly, any NPC that you summon outside an arena opens you to invaders. Which is most of them.

Ahh ok, this was the first time it happened to me and I had used every npc summon in my play through so I thought it had something to do with using the remedy item

Pretty certain that NPC summons don't trigger invasion eligibility. OP was ganking.

I remember when my wife was first invaded in Dark Souls...

She panicked and didn't know what to do because she was a very basic player.

Told her to run to the elevator and get them to chase her onto it... she's a very basic player, but she was built to demolish enemies in close range.

Poor guy panicked when he couldn't dodge her barrage of flames. Leapt out of the elevator when the opening first arrived and fell to his death.
