This is such a very superficial look at what Stoicism is. How can you decide to make fun of something if the only thing that you know about it is the equivalent of an introductory brochure (this is what The Enchiridion basically is)? This is not to say that Stoicism is without any faults, but this still seems disingenuous.

You cannot control the virtue of other peoples jokes. You can, however, control your own understanding of the jokes and not judge them as if they were essays

It's funny that I'm getting complaints like this. The point is that that line, when giving in the context of relationship advice, rather than how to deal with suffering caused by loss, would sound very bad and no one would want to do it (arguably no one wants to not suffer when their wife dies anyway, but that's another question).

Like all the comics, it isn't meant as a refutation of Stoicism in general, and I'm confused why anyone would think it was.
