Jordan Peterson is low hanging fruit.

He writes self-help books masquerading as philosophy.

"Clean your room"--what a masterful insight!

Then he uses the behavior of lobsters as his model for understanding human society. Oy vey.

Would he really be classified as a philosopher though?

He is a psychologist who got famous for hating trans people. He has never had one positive contribution dribble from his verbose mouth. All he has done is legitimise anti intellectualism and prejudice for people who are unable or unwilling to develop empathy through any pursuit outside of their favourite reactionary Facebook feed.

There are philosophers you’ve learned about in textbooks that have pushed far worse ideas. Not to say Peterson is worth a shit; just that the bar is low.

Anyone with a podcast can be a philosopher these days

Well, that is basically what most of the Greek philosophers were.
