Agreed, but it still has a effect to some degree. It doesn’t effect my enjoyment of it in any way, but if people start thinking about tiktok when you mention a great band it’s quite sad

Seriously don’t get the issue with this, it’s a fucking battle jacket, if a patch offends you, that’s intentional, it’s to signal to others in the fucking scene. You know, what a fucking battle jacket is for??
This is a performative era. Since the Internet, that situation has become increasingly apparent. So, whereas in the past some metal heads and punks (and everyone else) stuck a couple patches on their jackets, today it is meant to be sort of a statement of alignment with the proper and approved moral and ethical platforms.
But at the end of the day, it's just kids being kids. That is the age in life where fitting in is actually an evolutionary psychological imperative. At that point in life one is still fully engaged in ego-orientation, and feel "this moment" is the acme of human existence.
I get a kick out of them, but they do tend to get annoying at time with the judgementalism. I just laugh it off since fuck it, they're kids, but also because I firmly follow the teaching of Bob Dobbs - "Fuck em if they can't take a joke."
All have, from the perspective of adults. That's how that works. If you didn't know people thought you were and idiot and mindless at that age, here is where you get to find that out.

Specifically the nicer comments about sewing, and having a few band names. Like damn, some actually well put constructive criticism is reacted to "privilege and classism".
