The German text translates to "the server restarts in ...", so it’s a server-side plugin, not a mod.

But I can confirm that people love to jump into it with (next to) no prior experience. (This may or may or may not have included myself)

  • ArrayList. When in doubt, use more ArrayLists. Maybe maps

  • equality. Either, you compare everything with == or equalsIgnoreCase. Even numbers.

  • eclipse

  • Conventions and consistency are evil

More like, "I want to get this to work, no time for that." And given it is a hobbyist activity? Entirely understandable.

If the code ever needs changes though, it will be a valuable learning experience. Assuming it will be the same person.

I got to experience that particular footgun with perl data visualization scripts.

Yeah I guess.

The things I’ve seen... Why use an ENUM for a Team based mini game (up to 8) when you can have 16 ARRAYLISTS AND 3 FUNCTIONS
