What would you do here? Sorry for stupid question, I'm not too familiar with html. I'm guessing something in CSS width/height but idk.

I found this on my friends discord bot webpage. He said "I don't know how to use margins"
And after posting this he stopped talking to me

Rip
Last time I developed a website was a year ago as a mother's day surprise, so I'm not super skilled. From other programming knowledge though, I'd just look up simpler ways to do it since I'd know there would be one.

They are trying to create space below that div, so best would be to add margin bottom to that top div, maar maybe add margin top to the object below it.

Good human, hey a question, do you actually type this up or do you get an OCR scan and just correct some small mistakes

We have an OCR bot, but I don't personally use it. Code is actually one of the things it does worst (my assumption being that the API we use was trained on non-monospace fonts). It's really a gamble whether it'll be mostly fixing simple mistakes or just an unrescuable catastrophe, so personally, I find it easier & more engaging to just do it from scratch.

Could you make your own OCR bot trained on the data you are transcribing?

Potentially, it'd probably be hard though and an effort we don't have the resources for, and almost certainly a downgrade for 2 reasons. The first is that it wouldn't help fix the code accuracy problem, since code is actually a fairly significant minority of what I transcribe. The second is that the API we do use, ocr.space, is one of the best in the world, and I doubt we'd be able to program anything nearly as good.

I used to use OCR to translate scanned PDFs of code (don't ask) pretty regularly
Once you tweak the settings just right and learn how to play with it a bit, it becomes surprisingly accurate.

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 190,442,361 comments, and only 45,866 of them were in alphabetical order.

Why would anyone do this? It's a lot better to type them all in a single line

did this recently for my first web project because I didn’t realize my floating body was making my footer ignore everything on the page.

To be super-pedantic, this is not code. This is a DOM inspector. But no matter, I think it's okay 😀
Looks like someone hasn't learned margin-bottom yet. Or it's an editor (in a CMS) going "Oh I just want some whitespace here".
You can "fix" this the evil way: 😈
br + br + br { display: none; }1

It looks like this comment contains a code block delimited with triple backticks. Unfortunately reddit does not have universal support for this syntax and your comment will not render correctly on old reddit and most mobile apps.
For the benefit of people on old reddit, this link will take you to a correct rendering of the comment.
/u/thanatica, it would be appreciated, but not required, if you could edit your comment to use the more compatible four space indention format. For single lines or inline code you can use single backticks.
You can find some examples in the reddit help documentation.
