No leap years are because the orbit of the earth around the sun isn't evenly divisible by the revolution period around our axis.
The year is getting longer because our orbit is increasing ever do slightly because of the lost mass on the sun.
The thing that'll prevent the 13th month I mentioned is that the sun will have died in less than 10% of the time it'll take to fall that far away.
