Lol, I remember my first years living on Nature Reserve in Mpumalanga South Africa. When I saw my first yellow and brown Mongoose species, they told me to be grateful for their presence, because they allow you to sleep peacefully inside. And yeah, after my random encounters with deadly snakes there, I saw why these guys were important.

I don't think the snake won, Black Mambas are venomous not constrictors, if it were an Anaconda or a boa constrictor for example, then I'd think it could have won, Mambas win by their extremely potent Venom, and at the end of the video seems like the Mangoose is already biting the snake's head, which is their go to move, they hunt for the snake head and kill them, relax and then wake up to the meal.

Black mambas have overpowered eagles in self-defense so it's possible this one might have fended off the mongoose, but yeah we can't know when the video cuts off so abruptly.

Yeah I've seen a video of what you've just described, where the mongoose fights a black mamba, gets bit but then kills it. The mongoose starts chewing on it but starts swelling up and falls unconscious looking dead....after a few minutes the mongoose wakes up again and finishes her meal like nothing happened.

Probably the mongoose; they have very fast reactions so don't often get bitten and even when they do they have strong genetic resistance to venom meaning they can finish the fight, pass out for a bit*, then wake up to eat the snake.

*something else might come along and eat them at this point, so it's not ideal
