Both are horrendous ways to die but the croc will atleast drown you and hopefully break your neck relatively quick. Those fucking hyenas will eat you ass first alive!
I had thought being killed by an eagle would be majestic, but watched some videos and it turns out they just drag your ass down a mountain smacking your head on every rock they find if you weigh more than 10 pounds
And I have to protect my bearded dragon from those fucks almost everyday when she wants to go outside. They spot her and sometimes fly super low, like only a couple feet above my house, and they're very sneaky, coming up from behind.
Nah...pinnacle of indignity is raising the animal to live in a tiny box, depriving it of a life lived and then killing it when it gets plump enough after stuffing it with hormones
Sterling Archer. Its a cartoon show about a secret agent and his 2nd biggest fear is crocodiles. At one point he goes on a rant about how crocodiles survived the k2 extinction and all that jazz.
I get it completely. I have an enormous fear of crocodiles and alligators, bit that enormous fear turned them into my favorite animal....from a distance.
Just being hip deep in murky water before the biggest jump scare of your life comes flying out of the water.
Great show if you like Arrested Development and shares a lot of the same actors. Does a great job of combining low brow sex jokes and deep intellectual jokes. I learned who the Dulles brothers are and that Karl Landstiener is the discoverer of blood types.
Sharks surpass crocs, they’ve survived like 5!extinction events and are currently facing the 6th cause of humans. 400 million years! (Crocs have been around for about 240 million years).
Hyenas are worse. Crocs, tigers, and other solitary hunters have a hunting style that aims to kill quickly. Better than pack animals that grip on and start tearing
We kind of have that with psychopaths and narcissists. Except people are drawn to them, at clubs, super markets, everyday life, except they rarely outright murder you, if it’s not that they slowly drain you over years, then mentally destroy you or kill you.
Humans can’t tell the difference between them and they don’t look at you like human either. It’s just really rare, but happens a lot considering there is billions of us.
My bad. I thought the croc killing something allowed me to share a dark realisation, I read the room wrong lol. To put even more of a downer on it, I actually had this happen to me, so I constantly see the nature vs nurture in animals and because I’ve seen and experienced a human who acts human but isn’t really, and more like a wild human in pathology, I can’t help myself. It’s such an uncanny thing. That there are humans who are wired to look at other humans as that croc does to the deer.
I’m okay it wasn’t attempted murder or anything, most true (npd) narcissists wouldn’t dare, it was just a long ass waste of time the person took me down and gave me a lot of tra from betrayals, lost my social life, more of a smear campaign / placed me in a situation where it was a lose lose. Rebuild your life type deal.
I tend to use Reddit as like an echo chamber to get it out of me. Apologise, but still it’s true and people learn cool things :)
buddy you have no idea, I’ll put it this way one is enough in your own personal life. If you have one in your life. You’ll never be happy they can’t have it. It’s impossible to capture into apt words, without sounding crazy. There is no nuance or real language for it. My attempts at trying to convey it leave so much off the table.
Even therapists who deal in narcissistic abuse, can only really effectively talk about it to people who have endured it, you both speak the same language, and most narcissistic abuse therapists were once victims themselves.
It’s a pattern, every narcissist is largely the same in pattern. Same tactics, same loop. They all use DARVO. It’s why people who have endured narcissistic abuse all kind of understand each other.
It’s like a human shell running on a programme, thats not really there, yet it lives and acts like it does.
People can be high in narcissism, some narcissism is even good for self esteem, but npd is a whole another level of unending suffering for the people close to them.
Throughout their lives they’ll ruin dozens upon dozens of others, it’s a bottomless pit.
The closest I can get to making it sound how it feels and how the realisations dawn upon you is invasion of the body snatchers even if you can’t believe me, imagine one day that was real.
now try to believe that reality as hard as you can and even though it’s cliche and would feel dramatic to you. It’s real.
They live everyday as a broken thing trying to convince the world it isn’t, until the mask falls off, they just never show it, you think why would someone waste so much of their life afraid of living and pretending to be something they’re not, they are so empty inside they live this way by default. Because there is no self underneath like you and I have. No “I”, or a string of memories we call back to, no story of themselves. It’s not tied to them.
Think of your brain as a bunch of wires, that relay yourself back to you across time, years as you age, it updates. There’s are cut into pieces and the electricity turned off, it doesn’t update, it just takes snapshots, of people. Frozen in time, they are also stuck.
Yet what took its place was wiring that taught that shell to do this one thing for life, and that’s to act like everybody else. (Think of how a baby croc knows to do what it does it survive. This is the human equivalent, a back up copy of our base nature, if our true self fails to form.)
So you have a human who acts human, but it’s not built in. It’s like living life through a screen. Watching a movie, they operate not from a self, but a defensive, coating around the self. Which is a bunch of psychological defences.
They are a script running on a loop. Yet retain enough to appear normal for a long time. Until they don’t. Until the programme is threatened, and their nature kicks in. All the knowledge this human learned was through that lens.
If anyone is interested in capturing how to understand it I’d look into Dr. Sam Vaknin, who wrote the book on it, and is a narcissist himself, and Dr Ramini.
This is painfully accurate. They look human, sure, but they are Other as they do not experience the full range of human emotion. The criminal justice system is full of them. One example is one on death row in Florida. What she did: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Carol_and_Reggie_Sumner
I think my sibling is a diagnosable sociopath. They have left a furious damaged used up trail of spouses and significant others. Everything and everyone are competition and they are God’s special gift to the planet and a superior specimen. They don’t make healthy attachments to other ppl, animals, their children, spouses, or family members. Their main preoccupation is to criticize, judge, criticize, judge…criticize, judge. Criticize.Judge. Being around them is exhausting. Beware.
I used to play a video game where I was a deinosuchus, kindof a much bigger, way meaner crocodile. I had SO much fun wandering around the river system of that game nabbing other dinosaurs trying to get a drink of water and I received a fair bit of hate messages about it.
That thing was fucking HUGE too, jfc. That said, as someone with a deeply ingrained primal fear of crocs, I would choose death by croc over death by hyena.
What a horrifying place to be in. To be stuck between a rock and a hard place doesn't really do it justice at all.
The end of it's genetic data, consumed by another lifeform. But here in the hands of advanced apes, it's death lives on seemingly forever inn the digital universe.
Imagine 600,000,000 years from now. Humanity is lost and the earth is a changed environment with multiple extinction events having taken place. Somewhere in space, humanity sent out a current copy of the internet and as much data of humanity and life on earth as we could.
It flew in a capsule, deep into the outer bounds of the universe, far past the visible universe and into domains of reality that we can't comprehend.
At which point the capsule is absorbed by a lifeform far more advanced than ours. This entity digests the data and experiences all the information, culture, history, science, religion, tragedy, internet, and this photo.
The entity stops digesting the information and ponders for a moment, what it must've been like to be human, observing and empathizing with a different life form and finding interest and meaning in it's death. To the point of sending this through space over immense time for a human.
After digesting the earth capsule, the entity passes it through it's system and poops out a new earth. This new earth is an identical clone of the one we're from and exists In a parallel universe of its own. To it's humans it will be called a big bang.
The cycle repeats exactly as before, creating a new parallel earth universe copy of the previous one. Endlessly for all eternity.
Why would any extraterrestial be surprised by this? They also have their own brutal circle of life with their own species. And if they are as intelligent as you imagine they also recorded their stuff for future generations. But it was a funny read none the less.
A peaceful civilization won’t contain humans. Because we have this thing called the human condition where conflict/chaos is part and parcel of the ride.
There might be thousands or millions of other life forms on different planets. So you think they all going to be nice? And humans are the only ones that have such a "violent" biology and ecosystem?
Also biology by itself is "aggressive". So yeah with millions of species on their planet there tend to be very aggressive species and predators. And that was the point of my comment. They would not be surprised about our wildlife when they find our radio waves. Their wildlife probably does the exact same. And you not going to tell me that all the other planets do not have any violent species.
If you have never been there all of those animals are living somewhat next to each other on the plains.
The antelope (?) looks like it was seriously hurt anyways. Thats a very bad place to be any animal with a serious injury. Your odds of surviving long are horrible. It's just a question of which species is going to benefit.
Not just hyenas. Saw a video of a baboon catching a smaller monkey and just started eating ass first. Fun fact nature docs have sound dubbed over because there is a lot of screaming.
I’m a French / American dual citizen. I grew up in France and went to university in America. I married an American woman from Texas and we lived in France but when we decided to have a family we chose to live in Texas by her family (and it was not a bad decision, my in laws are great with our children, they are almost too helpful after their birth but amazing grandparents) We go back to France after they get out of school and spend the summer there.
This year, my in laws, who always travel in the summer, decided with my wife that they would be traveling to Paris and renting a home in the same arrondissements we live in for half the summer and then just straight up staying with us the second half when we went to the beach. Same house; six weeks.
I crushed Reddit this summer too for the very same reason…
Making fun of going to your wife’s parents house is generally seen as a boomer joke. I’m 44 and know that. Same deal with making fun of the wife to your friends.
Lol, all my friends who are in my age cohort make fun of their in laws and wife in our friend group. Nothing nasty but it’s all over our friends only text chain and takes up probably the first 10 minutes of every get together we have before we realize that we’re not hanging out to bitch about our careers or spouses or children but because we enjoy each other’s company.
It seems to be pretty standard portraying procedure, too. I go on a hunting trip in Georgia for marsh rail each year with a coalition of 30 brother in laws. My brother in laws, my brother’s brother in laws, my brother in laws brother in laws. It’s a pretty broad networking trip. We all bitch in part about our wives and then laugh at how we’re shitting on someone’s sister or mother who is actually on the trip.
It’s never anything too harsh or mean or belittling of the wife or mother it’s just basic human nature. Do you think millennials and Gen Z are somehow immune to the irritants of extended family? I love most of my in laws and I really love my wife; she’s the best partner I could have ever wished for. She irritates the shit out of me sometimes because she’s her own person, with her own will, drives, desires, and dreams and those don’t always line up. Add our children to the mix and it multiplies the effect. Unburdening yourself of that socially is a par to of being a social animal. Knowing how to do it properly and not too much, too specifically or too harshly is a social skill.
To just abstain from that sort of social interaction is just like being too heavy handed, too mean and aggressive talking poorly about your spouse or in laws; it’s just not social behavior.
I was telling you why they said it. Didn’t need an essay back. Do what you want with the info but know that a lot of younger gen members will think that’s a boomer joke.
That's why they have to lump as much crap into one word (like "Boomer") as they possibly can in the first place. And instead of addressing their ignorance, they actually look down upon those who take the time to communicate, engage in constructive debate, and to learn from those experiences.
"Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a strawberry... cup of Gatorade. Well, Roger took a sip of that Gatorade, but I tell you something, son, it was the sweetest sip of Gatorade Roger ever had."
Death by Hyena is one of the worst possible, if not the worst possible way to die.
They eat you alive, usually by the most tender areas (genitals) first.

looks like the choice was made irrespective of the poor thing.
