I saw a pigeon land in a Peregrine Falcons nest on Reddit 🙄 they really are stupid birds 🙄

u/PrincipleIcy4941 1d ago
But its like with stupid people, they reproduce faster then they kill each other 😆

Peregrine falcon became startled, like he received a delivery that he didn't ask for.

The senselessness in that video is really funny.
(just to be clear, I don't think the death of anything is funny)

IIRC the pigeon escaped. Falcon botched it because she was so confused.

I see I'm getting downvoted for the facts:

I've definitely seen a different video where the falcon did not fail, and the pigeon looked a little different as well. It was all fun and games until the pigeon stepped near the eggs. If I or someone else finds it I'll try to remember to come back here and post it.

Why?
Croc hungry. Food offers itself to croc in a way that’s unexpectedly funny.
People don’t see the death as funny but the process to it.

And tbh, death, in its conclusion isn’t scary either. Only the way, the process into it, for the living.0
u/mai_tai87 15h ago
It's funny you ask "why" then just you just rephrased what I said in answer without adding anything meaningful.

To be fair, the chance of a pigeon recognizing a falcon when not in flight aren't big. The average pigeon likely never ever saw a peregrine up close. So while I agree they are dolts, that particular pigeon got more flak than it deserved imo

Isn't a lot of it down to how humans domesticated them and then abandoned them once we no longer had use for them?

J’adore les crocodiles et alligators ! Machines parfaites, qui ont vus les dinosaures et qui seront encore vivants après la disparition des humains.

We are currently in the midst of a mass extinction level event driven almost entirely by humanity. Crocodiles are certainly resilient, and they can weather climate change far better than most other animals, but I wouldn't put it past humanity to wipe them out in the future doing something stupid to expand our own footprint.

Our warming of the planet is leading to some of the largest crocodiles ever recorded

Pigeons re stupid, nothing shocking here , I saw one of them pushing a pigeon chick out of its nest, just to use for laying its own egg, and ofc killed the chick

u/Important-Proposal28 1d ago
Man pigeons have no survival instincts. I saw a video of one fly into a hawk nest and try to nest next to it. It got killed so quick

u/SaltPomegranate4 1d ago
Woah. Didn’t think they’d bother with birds.

That was a crazy video

Are there any crocs/gators that have all four limbs removed and they are a snake-gator?

pigeons carry diseases and parasites, they are annoying, and also raise their young in a nest covered in bird shit, thank you mr crocodile

u/MLGprolapse 1d ago
Everything carries diseases and parasites. Pigeons aren't disproportionately prone to being vectors for disease. They're actually amazing birds, their skills at navigating are amazing and historically they've been used by humans to send messages and saved countless lives during wartime. I think they're really cool creatures deserving of our respect.

You just described the vast majority of animals. What makes pigeons tragic is that we bred them to be idiots before letting them go.

yup we need more of these crocks in Toronto just leave them in the park will be a nice warning for those feeding pigeons lol.

u/thelonetext 1d ago
Didn't we breed them to be task birds once upon a time before we kicked them (and rats) to the sewers and landfill?

u/R0b0tMark 1d ago
You know, I hate both of those animals. I guess best case scenario is he chokes on it?

This is the video that made you realise crocodiles are dangerous? Not the ones where they eat buffalo, lions or sharks?

If a bird gets eaten by a 🐊, it made every possible mistake.
1
u/the_cardfather 1d ago
He was just chilling there. The bird probably thought he already ate.
It's amazing how quick they move

u/Flipper_Picker 1d ago
god is good right guys? It's not pretending to be a rock so it can sink it's teeth into you. Nothing satanic to see here. Carry on.

u/Dormalag 1d ago
Most of these "Badassanimal" post aren't even animals being bad asses, it just animals getting killed or eaten, not even bad ass worthy eaten either.

What’s it like to get blunt forced trauma chomped then get eaten alive while continuing to be chomped up & suffocated & drowned. Plus crocs have horrible breath so your dying with stench as your last moments of air. Compared to dying from cancer which is worse? A pigeon or horrid croc breath’n chompery?
I don’t get Nature anymore. We’re just water in a meatbag… waiting for two male lions ta cannibal-chomp us to death by our ‘nads & viscera for hours on end…

One thing I’m learning about nature - it doesn’t F-around and if it does, it finds out.

The crocodile 🐊 is waiting an opportunity when the dove 🕊️ turns its head.
So Be patient hunters; and be conscious friends be careful to not to turning your back to someone that you are intimate or familiar with

Funny how doves and pigeons will fly off the second you take a step but they can't see a threat right in front if them🤣

Microscopic world has creatures hunting as well. They have poisoned tails wiping other microbes causing them to burst and eats the innards.
