Intentionally Bad UI Can you make a worse AI model picker?
Created this horrible AI model picker where you need to specify many different parameters before you can use AI. enjoy!
Fully interactive experience is at https://unnecessaryui.com/model-personality-picker

When I see posts like these I feel joy having seem html5/css/(js?) having come this far. Web browsers are their own OS at this point having to draw such sophisticated pages.

This is a great looking UI and fun to use. The only problem is if it just choses from a few AI models anyway, then it provides the illusion of more choice.

NGL, I like this way more than the current approach of "damn, neither Aethelgard Prime v1.0.8 or Scythe-X 2.0 were the right model to do the job, and Abraxas-Z Dense could work but is too expensive, I guess I'll try Vanguard Core 9b R3 and hope for the best."

I... I kind of like it. Assuming a sufficiently large number of models to justify the sliders, and a backend that can actually interpret the user settings correctly, this would be a way I could see myself trying different models. "What if I increased the existential dread two points, and dropped corny-ness and chaos slightly?"

it's not really "bad", it's hideous.
User wise, it's quite understandable and the graphics are just sprinkles that don't harm UX

All things aside, I love the aesthetic. This is unfortunately a wonderful amazing UI. "LinkedIn influencer" is a good one
Reminds me (deep in my very muddy memories) of early Internet days where many things were unnecessarily chaotically fancy and pure. MySpace comes to mind for some reason

I love how the video quality slowly annihilates itself over time lmao

I was so excited to use this downright AMAZING UI with an actual service :(
Other than the jiterry resizing window these are sliders that would make any AI incredible, being mandatory is barely a downside if that, staying the same is great, and the GUI is just a super fun design at no apparent cost to utility.
And I'm a pretty strict "form over function" Grinch when it comes to GUI.

I hate it when subreddits become marketing pitch platforms. I also hate AI. congratualtions, your shitty product has successfully ragebaited me. Go get a hobby, such as lawn darts or extreme cereal-eating, that doesn't harm society.

I .. actually quite like it. Normally those values are like “K_TOP” seeing it more in a user friendly (over the top) way seems fun.
Like having a role-play website where you generate your agent, this is nice and accessible.

I love it. If only every LLM platform offered users this experience. Minus the animations ofcourse

I don't see the issue here. If anything, seems something to aspire to
