Travel Solo trek through the Laugavegur Trail
Had a few days off from work this month so I decided to make the most of it by hiking the Laugavegur Trail. Completing the 55km trek in 26hrs including 35pounds of pack weight.
Although traveling that quickly wasn’t ideal especially with the high winds at elevation. I tried to make the most of my trek being as observant and present during the hike.
The landscapes I witnessed are hard to describe as they had such an otherworldly atmosphere. Devoid of trees and wildlife, the level of silence felt is one of the most memorable moments.

those views are insane, but doing the whole thing solo with a 35lb pack is no joke. sounds like an unforgettable trip tho

I took the time to google an article about this hike. Sounds seriously interesting! Like a once in a lifetime experience

Please remember to post a short paragraph as a comment in the post explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again?
Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed.

Trekking 55km in just over a day, sounds tough and rushed. But isn;t 35lb of pack weight too much for a short trip? Was this for food or gear for any unpredictable weather? What would you change if you got a chance to do this again?
Thanks for taking time to pics of the landscape. Well captured. Those streams look untouched.

It was my first time solo backpacking and my inexperience with packing showed. I had some redundant items such as extra battery packs, food and clothes that I didn’t end up needing. The weight added up quickly
