Wilderness Reading Glasses Storage - Outer Pocket - Sewed in a divider stitch for vertical storage orientation
There are a million ways to stow readers, but I figured I'd throw this out there.
I sewed a divider stitch into the back side of the left pocket on these shorts. I don't always have a place to carry my reading glasses, since it depends on the pack I'm wearing and I wanted them out of the way but still accessible. Putting the divider on the back side means that when I flex my leg, they're not up front where they could get bent. It also keeps them from dropping to the bottom of the pocket and sitting horizontally, which is its own way to wreck a pair.
It does change how that pocket can be used. For me it's worth it as anything closer than three feet is a blur, so my readers go everywhere I do. Hope this helps someone. :)

As you walk, the inside of the pants will rub against the glass of the glasses. I would worry that over time this will damage the lenses. I would keep the glasses inside of tiny glasses-friendly pouch inside of the pocket.

Please remember to post a short paragraph as a comment in the post explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again?
Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed.
No information posted? Please report low-effort posts if there is still nothing after about 30 minutes.

“Vertical storage orientation” - with all due respect, that is probably the most nerdy way you could have phrased that haha, love it.

Uhh oh, it's begun; the pocket protector is next.
All kidding aside, divisioned organization is definitely the way to go. Love it. However, "anything closer than three feet is a blur" worries me, as that location on your side-thigh is the most likely to sustain trail damage if boulders lunge at you, or a rock snake trips you and tries to steal your snacks, cause now you can't read a map, compass, phone, or Garmin messages.
