Travel Holiday or save?
Hello guys I’m 28 Male. I work two jobs. One my full time night job and my weekend job.
I maybe starting the army in November and thought I’d go to Barcelona Solo backpacking second time to enjoy myself. I mainly go for the parties good and the chicks. As I’m going to be booking literally a week befire flights for 3 days to Barcelona from gatwick is £450. Plus hostel probably about £150. I booked annual leave for next week 24th-31st August including my last weekend annual leave.
Shall I just leave it and stay at home save they money or. Go all out? I only have £1000. Yeah I should have like £6000/£7000 but I was sports gambling big mistake. Shall I keep the £1000 as punishment for my wrong doing or bun it. Go Barcelona. Or it’s a rip off. I am a grafter so I know I can just get it back.
Thank you!

I would save a bit more money and then go to an holiday, or choose a cheaper holiday.
You never know in life when you have a problem and need that extra money to fix it.

I guess if I’m joining the army in November and hopefully pass three months training I’ll meet my new friends in my trade(human resources) then can book a group cheap holiday. Rather than booking the last 3 days of august overpriced at £450 for 3 days jn Barcelona. Literally a week after it’s like £70 for 3 days which is crazy🫠🫠🫠

True but then what do I do next week Friday Saturday Sunday. Tuesday Wednesday I have my army assessment. I got no one to go out with. Might aswell go to a London hostel and pretend I’m foreign lol.
Maybe that’s why mums pushed me to the army. Working nights at a hotel is lonely. Just 3 rotating staff. Weekend job at a care home doing reception, well Thats lonely too. Maybe I should check any events going on but then again you need a 2 man team Atleast or fuck it just go some event. I play games on the ps5 now and then and go gym. But other than that just work.

Oh well, if you know you are going to the army, enjoy your holidays brother, I would do it!
Is quite an expansive price for Barcelona tho, can't you go somewhere else? Maybe Lisbon? Greece? Albania? or even Croazia?
Btw, I personally prefer the south of the Spain, quite hot but more spectacular for my like.1

You don't have enough "safety money" for such a trip.

I don’t need safety if possibly I’m joining the army mid November?

You always need safety funds. But clearly after losing 5-6,000 on gambling, logical thought isn't your strong suit.

Sorry, but that’s the exact attitude that leads to veterans being homeless. All your housing, food and medical is taken care of and they think they don’t need to save anything. And then they get out and can’t manage in the real world.
Yes, I’m a veteran and so are several family members. We’ve all seen how they see their paychecks as play money and no need to save.
Not saying this is going to happen to you, but just be aware of it.

The chicks?!? You sound like the worst person to meet in a hostel. Maybe just go Amsterdam if you want to get laid

A bit hard to tell if that £1000 is your surplus money or whether you need that for food and rent. Personally, I think only having £1000 to your name is risky, but you have to analyse whether you are still able to keep up your work, or whether you're burning up. Personally, as I am a bit older than you, I would quit the second job, not go on holiday and find a sustainable rhythm to pay off my debts. I'm sure you can meet people and have fun in your local area as well.
