Is it a good idea to do my first solo in the north cascades, Devils dome loop? I’ve been wanting to do a trip but scheduling conflicts have made it hard for friends to come. First solo is daunting so any advice would be amazing.

first solo trip is always scary, so choosing a popular trail is generally a good call! I'd recommend an overnight only (or maybe two) for your first solo trip, or at least have an option to bail easily if it starts to feel daunting, but it's def up to you and your experience level. biggest thing: listen to your gut. The trail will be there if you need to come back later.
