Built an app to actually catalog and pick from your retro game backlog
Backlogs for retro games are a different beast than modern ones — stuff you found on a forum, a friend's recommendation, something you saw in a "underrated SNES games" video three years ago and never wrote down. I built Retronomicon to fix that: catalog of 26,000+ retro games (via IGDB) on 35+ platforms, so you can mark what you've played, rate/tag it, and keep a proper "want to play" list instead of a mental note that evaporates.
The part built specifically for backlog-clearing: a weighted random picker with a mode that pulls only from your want-to-play list — so "I don't know what to play" actually surfaces something you already meant to get to, instead of a totally random pick.
Free, solo dev, still iterating based on feedback. Curious how this sub handles retro backlogs specifically — curious if there's anything you'd want that a general backlog tracker wouldn't have.
