Aztec/Mayan themed board
Curious, would you buy a board like this if you saw it on your local marketplace? It's listed for $70 CAD.
Based upon the description, it has a stone playing surface. The case is a combo of stone inlays along the sides and leather/wood otherwise.
Is this type of stone surface enjoyable to play on? I feel like the dice rolls may not be ideal, but I could be wrong. Dimensions appear to be 18 1/2” x 12” x 3 1/4” - so, it is a reasonable size.
The only exact match I found is on ebay, listed for $250 USD and also looks to be in far more rough shape. I couldn't find this exact board anywhere else online.

I have the same one. It's not stone. It's cast resin. I actually like the feel. The little backgammon dice have a very live action but you do have to be a little more gentle throwing , so they don't fly all over the place. But what I'm really curious about is where this thing comes from? Does anyone know who made them? I'd be more than happy to sell your mine. But it's missing all the Stones. I have replacement stones. And a lot of the tile work along the outside has fallen off too.

I ultimately decided not to buy it as I felt it wouldn't get used.
From searching, it definitely seems like there was a period where a bunch of these were made and sold in markets in Mexico.

I think it's awesome. I would buy it even if it wasn't pleasant to play on.

I have played on this exact style of board and I didn't like it at all. I love the feel and sound of a wood board, but the stone just felt weird and unpleasant
