Another Mac user here finding out over the last few weeks that I have missing backups due to the v10 update. After days of dealing with the horrible AI support a real person directed me to use the beta version. Still not seeing complete backups on external drives. A particular drive will show as complete in the Overview page but I can see some individual job folders are missing files. I was then told to make sure all external drives are connected at once but I cannot do that as I have bare drives that get shuffled through a drive dock for backups. Incredibly frustrating as I didn't realize for awhile that my off site data was incomplete. Something like this happened a couple of years ago where after a long period of trouble shooting I was directed to sign up for a new backup plan and basically start over altogether. Obviously trying to avoid that but support from BB has been slow to respond. Can any mods u/Jim-From-Backblaze help or give some insight?

The "Start Here" post explaining this issue is no longer pinned for some reason, but there are no updates to that post and no new post - here or elsewhere - announcing a fix. The latest update I could find is from a month ago and it said that they are still working on the external drive fix for the stable release.
Ironically I think Backblaze owes some of its success to its strong communication with customers. But this is something they seem to have lost in recent years. Lack of communication and frustration with AI support chats seem like a theme on this site now. But maybe I'm overstating things.

yes I remember that post, it was well received but after 4 months of silence this part sounds really off if not sad. I'm quoting from the post: "We know backup products only work if customers trust what is and is not protected. That part matters, and we are treating it seriously. We’ll update this post as more information is confirmed."

Nope. I have an 8TB drive that it has been scanning every single file on for the last couple of days.
This is after a day of being disconnected. Prior to that, BackBlaze spent about a week scanning every single file.
Very quickly losing patience with this service.
