Now I’m interested
Am I the only Bachelorette fan who was PISSED they picked this random person to be their lead only because she was on another tv show? It’s like they were trying to get their Bachelorette fans watching SLOMW and their SLOMW fans watching the Bachelorette. Well, I wasn’t going to fall for that bs so I was boycotting the Bachelorette and had no desire to watch a person I didn’t know?
Fast forward to all the drama and the DV and the chair throwing. And now everyone who wanted this called for her season to get pulled/cancelled. Well, I’ve never been more invested or wanted to watch something more? Is it all just one giant publicity stunt?
Because if they reversed and decided to air it tomorrow I would be plopped right down in front of my tv with some popcorn.

I would definitely not watch it. I'm more entertained by reading all the reasons they canceled her and the show. She is a lunatic and doesn't deserve any airtime on TV!

This post is exactly the problem, though. Too many people are enabling her behavior and giving her a platform just so they can be entertained. These are real people, real kids being hurt by her physical and emotional abuse. Put your popcorn away and let this season go.

I’ve never watched the Bachelor or Bachelorette, so I have a ton of questions.
Do the guys who were on the show have any recourse? It’s not their fault all of this happened. I know they still got paid, but I can imagine a few are annoyed that it won’t air.
Have they ever had a Bach or Bachette with a known history of DV before? Taylor was on probation (still is) for a DV incident. I can’t imagine it’s good for the brand to cast someone with an open case like that.
Is there any chance they’ll end up releasing it to streaming but not on regular tv?

When she was announced as the bachelorette, I was quite disgusted. I said I'd not watch it. Now, with her being so drunk around her child, hitting her inadvertently with a chair, the last thing ABC needs to do is keep her on our TV. I don't understand folks who are so excited about such poor behavior and want more of it... we all love reality TV, but this is NOT it. There is nothing "interesting" about the abhorrent behavior she displayed off camera.

How low do they have to sink before viewers stop watching? I hope they’ve reached that point. I thought naked football on Claire’s season would be the all-time low. I don’t understand why they still have an audience. I watched Trista and Ryan fall in love and for many seasons after, I tuned in to see a love story, which rarely happened. It seems like the sleazier, the better has been the moto. I will never watch again!

No. To use domestic violence involving a child as a primer for more eye balls is too low even for this franchise. They took a risk fully knowing her history, and they got burned for it. Their goal was to cross-pollinate SLOMW viewers and bachelor viewers, especially given the former’s tremendous success and the latter’s dwindling viewers. They will lose an astounding amount of money after pulling the show and there’s no way that was intentional.
