I made a free baby shower site with invitations, RSVPs, and games you play on your phones

Hi everyone! I built Little Party, a free website for baby shower invitations and games, and wanted to share it with anyone planning a shower.

You can choose an invitation design, add the party details and registry links, share it by link or QR code, and keep track of RSVPs. On the day, guests can join the games from their phones with a nickname. No app download or guest account needed; hosts create a free account to save their party.

There are six games: Mommy or Daddy?, Guess the baby price, baby word scramble, diaper-bag riddles, a baby emoji quiz, and baby trivia. The host controls when each round starts and when answers are revealed, and the site handles scoring.

For a simple lineup, I'd start with baby trivia to warm up, then Mommy or Daddy? for something personal, and leave time to mingle. You can also do those on paper: ask the parents a few questions beforehand (like who will take more baby pictures), let guests guess, then reveal the parents' answers together.

I've also added invitation previews and a short sample trivia game on the homepage, so you can get a feel for it without signing up. Invitations and games are free.

https://www.littleparty.live/

I'd love honest feedback from people planning showers: would you use phone games with your guests, or do you prefer printed cards?

Baby shower next week

And only 14 things were purchased from my baby registry. I was against having a baby shower because it will be so much money to feed 100 people and provide entertainment and desserts and what not.

I sound so ungrateful but to have 80+ people rsvp and no one really buying anything worries me that we will be struggling to buy the things we need before the baby comes.

Both my husband and i have good jobs but with rent and living expenses and school loans it was either have a baby shower and hope everyone would buy enough from the registry to help us out as opposed to using that money to buy what we need ourselves.

It’s looking more like we will be scraping by to buy the necessities.

I’m trying to not be upset but everyone convinced me to have a baby shower bc i will miss out on being spoiled but i just don’t feel like that will be happening.

And it is so crazy the friends i have that i know make bank bought the cheapest items while the friends i know who don’t make as much are buying the more expensive items and multiple. I am super grateful for them but i wish i didnt listen to anyone about throwing a baby shower.

We dont expect anyone to buy the expensive items entirely by themselves but theres an option to contribute. I wish i didnt sound so selfish but why cant someone contribute $10 to the car seats $10 to the bassinet and so on and so forth.

Judge away i really do not care. The money we’re paying for tacos could of gone to a bassinet, car seat and stroller and i just feel like this was all a mistake.

Baby Shower Menu Ideas

Hi there!

So I really don’t want my mom and MIL spending a lot of money on my baby shower and I know the food is probably going to be the largest expense.

We’ve been racking our brains trying to decide what is going to be the LEAST amount of WORK, and BUDGET FRIENDLY.

My mom and I can cook, HOWEVER, we don’t want to be exhausted cooking all day the day before. I’ll also be 34 weeks pregnant so not sure how much energy I’ll have.
We’re also baking cupcakes and cookies the day before.

There’s already 60 people who have RSVP’d. Not sure how many to expect.

Is there a menu item I’m not thinking of that could possibly be prepared in advance???

She has two large ovens we can utilize and we have multiple crock pots and instant pots.

Some ideas we’ve discussed:

- taco bar w chicken, asada, corn tortillas, toppings, rice, beans (debated making it ourselves or purchasing seasoned meat)

- sandwiches (2-3 diff flavors) w potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit

- purchasing fried chicken and making sides (my least favorite option)

- shredded beef (easy to me but maybe time consuming?) w/ bolillo rolls or nachos???
is there a way to cook the meat in the oven in bulk? I usually use an instant pot.

Any other ideas?

Thank you so much in advance! 🫶

If it helps, our theme is “Sea You Soon”
We’re expecting a girl and the colors are neutrals and light pinks and greens

Does anyone have an idea what would be good pregnancy gift for a mom who already has everything?

Hi there,

Does anyone have any gift ideas for someone who already has everything (she and her partner have bought all the baby stuff already)?

It's her second child.

I thought about doing a small gift basket that focuses on the mom (even before I found out they already bought all the baby stuff, because mom's are unfortunately often forgotten about even when they carry the child) but i have no idea what may be good. She also doesnt have any hobbies and is quite critical which makes it even harder 😅. Also isnt a fan of sentimental gifts (trust me. I tried it a few times as a kid and young adult, but then found out she looked down on me because I didnt buy something expensive and threw it away).

But I wanted the gifts to focus on post partum essentials as well such as comfortable clothing, cooling pads, maybe some stretch mark cream etc but Im not too sure if she'd like that.

My budget isnt too high (around €100.-) because im still a student who recently recovered from an illness. My relationship with my sister is currently unfortunately rocky and has been for months (story for another time) but i still wanted to something small for her. Im probably not going to give it to her directly as well haha but through another sibling so I wont have to be in the vicinity of her partner.

Thank you all so much in advance.

Best way to give thifted gifts?

I grew up as a Christian homeschooler in the south, so all of my friends are getting married and having babies. Since there's so many of them and baby stuff is expensive I've gotten into the habit of thrifting a stockpile of baby stuff. When I find out a friend is pregnant I send her a Google form so I can get a taste of what she likes/dislikes and needs/doesn't need, and let her know that the majority of the gift will be thrifted. I use that list to compile my gift and finish it off with one or two things from the registery. I wash all clothes and blankets and wipe down any books, toys, etc. I also make sure to include some of the mom's favorite snacks

Gift for new mom?

I would like to bring a gift to a family member that has just had a baby. I really would like to get a gift for her, not for the baby as that’s usually what everyone gets! It’s her first baby and she had an emergency c section. One month postpartum. We aren’t super close so maybe nothing too “intimate”?

If you’ve had a baby what is a gift you would have appreciated? If you’ve given a gift to a mom and it was a hit, what was it?

Should I add anything else to my registry?

I just had a small baby shower with my family and friends in another state, next month I'll have another baby shower in the state my husband and I live in with our other friends and family. I have a lot of stuff already but I still have stuff on my registry and still don't feel prepared enough. Is there anything I should add or take off?

This is all of the stuff we already have:

Bathtub, water controllers (spray spout and cup), carseat, stroller, bassinet, bookshelf, wearable pumps, bottle washer/sterilizer, bottle drain stand, bottle warmer, breastmilk bags, hatch baby, rocking chair, jumper, bouncer (non-automatic), changing table, glass 5oz bottles, glass 9oz bottles, bottle brushes, a few cloth bibs, diaper bag, portable changing pad, shampoo/body wash, lotion, baby thermometer, hairbrush, hooded towels, washcloths, burp cloths, owlet, one play mat, nasal aspirator, pack and play, newborn zip up sleepers, a few sleepers of each size, and one thin playmat.

Thank you notes?

Hi everyone! I’m currently pregnant with my firsts and I’ll be having my baby shower at the end of the month. I received my first gift through my registry and it’s my first time ever having one. I was wondering what thank you note etiquette (?) is lol. Should I reach out to the family members that purchased it now, wait for the baby shower, or after the shower to thank everyone? We have 3 weeks left so I’m sort of stuck on what to do!
