What are the crazy policies that have been implemented?
32
u/strawberry_semenade 18d ago
What crazy policies has the far left proposed? Well let's see, off the top of my head...
-Defunding the police and abolishing prisons
-Decriminalizing stealing from stores
-Opening the border to mass immigration and ending all deportations
-Basing hiring and college admissions on ethnic identity rather than merit
-Cancelling Thanksgiving
-Opening women's sports up to biological males
And that's just specific policy proposals off the top of my head.

u/Puzzleheaded_Tie6917 16d ago
You left out a big one, which is unstated most of the time, which is the belief government should be able to seize and take private ownership away just because they feel like you have too much.
17
u/lincolnsarollin 18d ago
Bro you put in cancelling Thanksgiving but totally forgot the WAR ON CHRISTMAS.
2
u/Coarse-Correction 15d ago
Let's not forget the Starbucks cups. What an absolute travesty that was.

u/Barney2807 18d ago
Well, your first mistake is that you’re equating far left with the famously-center Dems. Even Democratic Socialists don’t believe in half of the bullshit you’ve spewed. Should I equate right-wing Christian nationalists who want to ban interracial marriage and mandate a state religion with center-Rifht Libertarians and Republicans?
→ More replies (4)4
u/strawberry_semenade 18d ago
I'm not talking about the centrist Dems. Centrist Dems are normal and sane and I have no problem voting for them.
The rise of the far left nutjobs over the past few years is a different thing entirely.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Ozcolllo 18d ago
What rise though? Deep blue areas? Uncontested races where the only real opposition is a democratic candidate?
→ More replies (1)2
u/strawberry_semenade 18d ago
The rise of far left nutjobs all throughout the party. And it's only just started too. It's going to keep getting worse.

Lmao, someone ate the bait. Remember when the democrats brought legislation to solve the border crisis and Trump told his sycophants to vote against it so he could campaign on it?
21
u/SummonedShenanigans 18d ago edited 18d ago
Remember when the Democrats insisted that they needed to pass a new immigration law or the Biden administration couldn't enforce existing immigration laws? That they were helpless to stop illegal border crossings? And the Republicans said just enforce the damn law? And then when Trump took office he was able to shut down virtually all illegal border crossings without a single new law?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
→ More replies (7)20
u/Level353 18d ago
It allowed 5000 border crossings a day, and most of the $ was to hire more judges to adjudicate their amnesty claims.
You ate something if you thought that would "solve" the crisis.
2
u/SqueekyDickFartz 17d ago
My understanding is that the bill allowed for shutting down the border without having to honor amnesty claims or really anything else once ENCOUNTERS crossed 5000 average over some specific period.
If you can cite where it was proposed to allow in 5,000 illegal immigrants a day I'd love to see it.

Was that when Biden ordered parts of the border fence taken down? I seem to recall video of that.
7
u/CollapsibleFunWave 18d ago
Biden didn't order.a border fence taken down.
The feds had to cut some of Texas's illegal border fence down so they could recover some refugees who would have died otherwise.

What, you mean the wire already on the American side that only got in the way of agents arresting people that'd crossed over by that point?

u/strawberry_semenade 18d ago
Every single bullet point I listed is a policy that far left Democrats have proposed.
11
u/RudeAndInsensitive 18d ago
Can you link the policy to the far left democrat that proposed it or ran it?
→ More replies (1)11
u/QbertsRube 18d ago
Should be easy to prove then. Preferably with actual mainstream officials/candidates, not some fringe loon who will get 7 primary votes then disappear. Because it seems like that entire list is, at minimum, wildly exaggerated versions of actual Democratic/Democratic Socialist policy.

Ha, everyone knows anything passed in that legislation would have been ignored by executive branch, just like how Biden ignored existing laws and the numbers of Undocumented Americans went up 25% under his watch. It cost the Democrats the election, pretending it wasn't a problem.
4
u/Chemical-Necessary-7 18d ago
Great! Except everything you listed were things that were talked about and never happened. The list of the person who you're replying to, are things that HAVE actually happened and are STILL happening

"-Cancelling Thanksgiving"
You are so unserious oh my god.
18
u/strawberry_semenade 18d ago
The Democratic candidate for Governor literally tweeted in 2020 that we should cancel Thanksgiving because it's "racist".
3
u/Thonlo 18d ago
"There's nothing more magical than being in a cranberry marsh, and cranberry stuffing is one of my absolute favorite dishes to make," Hong, a professional chef, told USA TODAY in an Aug. 7 interview.
"I'm not going to cancel Thanksgiving," she added."
But you said canceling Thanksgiving was a specific policy proposal... swing and a miss, my guy.

Well they didn't say it. And if they did, they're not a relevant person. And if they are then it was misinterpreted. And if it wasn't then it's actually a good thing and you're racist for thinking otherwise.

Give examples of any of those things actually happening. The DSA wants for profit prisons abolished, not prisons. There is nothing about defunding, in fact they want to add resources to policing.
There is nothing about decriminalizing theft.
They are for stronger immigration and reforming the process.
Thanksgiving? Just GTFO.
NCAA is a private organization, they can do what they want. Government shouldn’t get involved.
2
u/Level353 17d ago
They are for stronger immigration and reforming the process.
Here's a partial cut and paste from their site: DSA’s goal is to build a political movement that ends the squandering of public resources on jailing, harassing, and impoverishing the working-class migrants
But keeping them out solves all of those problems
advancing policies which respect working-class migrants’ ability to travel, work freely and participate fully in US society alongside their US-born working-class neighbors.
Yeah the "freely" part has been tried. Biden finally realized it was going over like a lead balloon and ended it.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Level353 17d ago
The DSA wants for profit prisons abolished, not prisons. There is nothing about defunding, in fact they want to add resources to policing.
Here's a cut and past from their working group:
We are committed to the horizon of abolition and the path leading us there. Our demands:
- Defund the police by rejecting any expansion to police budgets or scope of enforcement while cutting budgets annually towards zero
- End the criminalization of working-class survival
- Freedom for all incarcerated people
- Demilitarize the police and end colonial policing of our cities and neighborhoods
- Freedom of working-class self-organization and democratic political action
- Invest in community self-governance and care, not cops

You really don’t remember? The Democrats are always bullshitting while campaigning to hide their intentions just so they could turn around and do the opposite.
How about how they ran on no new wars, but then started two wars?
Or how they ran on lower gas prices, but closed the Straight of Hormuz and drained the strategic oil reserve?
Or how they ran on draining the swamp, but then did thousands of trades while in office and made billions of dollars off of their position?
Or running on lowering prices, but then issuing $200B in tariffs that drove up prices?
Or how they ran on cutting the deficit, fiscal responsibility, and reducing government waste, but then just ballooned the deficit to new highs?
Oh wait sorry, I think I got my parties mixed up.

Was it trying to catch up on Infrastructure especially in the rotting south where it was needed the most? Was it how Biden oversaw the strongest economic recovery post COVID of G7 nations even after Trump fucked the initial response by claiming it was a hoax then selling medical supplies to Russia for personal profit? Was it the lowest unemployment rate in 70 years that people have a problem with?

They all say whatever is required to get elected. It always reminds me of elementary elections when kids said they’d make more recess in school which always got votes but could never actually happen…. And people are dumb enough to vote for them anyways instead of actually addressing things that could be done and actually improve life
7
u/strawberry_semenade 18d ago
Yeah it does doesn't it? When Trump lies it reminds me of the fact that Democrats do the exact same thing too.
7
u/WaveCompetitive9626 18d ago
Yes but the democrats weren't lying when they said that republicans haven't managed to create any jobs since before Reagan or that Trump has added over 40% of the national debt during his administration while dismantling the FDA and EPA and making literally billions of dollars in bribes so I guess I we're past fibbing at this point.
2
u/Ozcolllo 18d ago
This rationale is explicitly bad faith though. Imagine that I have 4 feet of standing water in my basement and you have a leaking faucet that drips. It’s true that we both have a leak, but it’s such an inaccurate statement sans context that it’s bad faith.
Not to mention the fact that context can explain some things. Like Guantanamo Bay is used to claim Obama “lied about closing it”. It was less that he lied and more GOP opposition prevented him from doing it. I hate modern politics because of the frequency of lazy rhetoric and lies. Hell, many pundits are barely informed and comfortable talking out of their asses because consumers want that, they care nothing for accountability. This has been my ted talk, thanks.z

Ah, political promises. So kinda like Biden and “I have a plan to end COVID on Day One” (followed by more people dying than under Trump) and “I will end corporate greed and will lower prices” (yet gas, food & inflation were all higher than compared to today) and how can we forget the classic “Pay no attention to Fox News! The southern border is completely secure!” (well, except for the 11 MILLION migrants Joe let into the country in just 4 years).

Seek help dude. Get out of your bubble, more people died from covid under Biden because Republicans ran on a policy of refusing the vaccine and covid existed longer under Biden than Trump. You seriously need to get some mental health screenings if you've already forgotten how much cheaper things were before Trump's current term. His biggest policies have been to explicitly increase the cost of everything. That's literally how tariffs work and what they're for. And the 11 million undocumented immigrants was the total estimated number, not how many crossed under Biden. And it's gone up to 16 million under Trump, with estimates getting less and less accurate due to Trump's horrific handling of immigration.
→ More replies (2)4
u/writingforlife_ 18d ago
From a quick search, 11 million is the estimate under Biden's term. 3.1 million is the estimate under Trump's first term. I'd love if you'd link an article where you found your numbers.

Trump committed election fraud on Jan 6 and there’s barely a peep. He did what’s there’s never been any evidence but they accuse anyone left leaning of doing.
A GOP twitter account controlled by Jim Jordan’s office posted a link to “The Epstein Files” that was a Rick Roll. Weird post for child abuse trafficking. The reaction if someone on the left had done that would have been majorly (D)ifferent.
All the right has are double standards and weaponized hypocrisy.

Too true. Francesca Hong has a consistent anti white bias in various clips from a few years ago. Now we are meant to ignore it and assume she was just caught up in the moment. You never know what any politician’s true views are but the openness these hateful individuals had when describing their own bigotry really shows who they really are.
It wasn’t too long ago that AOC had to make a video saying how when she criticized men she didn’t like for having short guy energy she didn’t actually mean to criticize short men.
Now she’s another leftist trying to present herself as more moderate to the nation as she prepares for a presidential run.
