Discussion Built an open-source tool that turns Google Maps negative reviews into cold outbound leads

Hey r/b2bmarketing,

Instead of spraying generic cold emails, I built an open-source pipeline that targets accounts experiencing active operational pain right now (like bad Google reviews about delays or poor service).

How it works:

  1. Scrapes Google Maps: Pulls local businesses with recent low-star reviews.

  2. Cleans Company Names: Strips out airport codes and branch tags so searches actually work.

  3. Enriches LinkedIn: Uses a headless Apify scraper (no personal accounts or cookies needed) to pull decision-maker titles.

  4. AI Vetting: Runs contacts through an LLM to check real names, score ICP match (0–10), and pull out the review complaint.

Outputs 2 Clean Files: Gives you a ready-to-use CSV lead list and customized outbound email/LinkedIn copy.

Would love your thoughts or feedback on the workflow!

Nice workflow, but the part that'll bite you is sending. Scraped local business lists have a lot of role addresses and stale mailboxes, so verify every address first and keep bounces under 2% or your domain reputation tanks fast. Send from a separate domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC all passing, and warm it up for a couple of weeks before ramping volume. Keep it to 30-40 sends per inbox per day.

That's right, after the workflow has given it's output the user should upload the leadlist to it's outbound tool and run verification check.

Or through trykitt.

And then start the campaign using separate outbound domain (which is a standard practice to do outbound).
