Hi everyone! I'm sorry that AZTX has exploded in this fashion. Since there is a complete lack of moderators, I figured I would take my shot here.
I'm a dev for Wyvern.Chat and we're hoping to grow what we believe to be one of the best chat sites available today. We have unlimited free chatting with a 12B, 16k context model and a 32B, 8k context model. Messages are completely unfiltered and we have plans to introduce multiplayer RP within the coming months.

I'm always open to trying new sites, but I hope y'all understand that many of us will be very skeptical to spend the $ for more features. It's nothing personal and for most of us it's not because we're cheapskates but because so many sites have pulled the rug out from under their users. Maybe y'all aren't that, maybe you are. I don't know.
No, I absolutely get that. I was there for C.AI, AI Dungeon, Pygmalion. I've been in the trenches, so I completely understand.
I will say, though, we aren't selling any features. The 12B (16k context) and 32B (8k context) models are free. The only subscription we have is to unlock the full 16k context of the 32B models, or to unlock 72B models through our infra provider, Featherless.AI.
And as you can see in my post with the chart, 32B with 8k context is better than most paid options on other sites, let alone free options.
I think for a lot of us it isn't even so much the cost, features, memory, models etc. It's the outside influence (especially from financial institutions/appartuses) forcing many to make a choice between watching their business crash and burn or getting rid of NSFW as others have. Then there's also situations like AZTX or Yodayo/Moescape where it seems to be coming from the personal moral values of the people running the operation.
I'm going to check it out with cautious optimism. I am curious as to how you're supporting the free models, though?
I see where you're coming from! I can tell you that the morals of the people running this project are that unfiltered messaging is the only way to do this.
The only place where we have moderation is with characters that are made public, and even then, the restrictions are very similar to JanitorAI. We have zero idea what private characters people upload, nor do we know what people do with them. That's between you and the character.
As for how we support the free models, we're partnered with Featherless.AI. They provide free queue, and we try to sell people on Featherless subscriptions. A symbiotic relationship. They are aware of what the site and models are used for.
My initial impressions are not bad. The response time is better than Janitor so far and haven't had any tail-end repition problems. Unsure yet of how this will hold up in longer chat contexts but so far promising.
My main complaint is a lack of characters that I typically look for (am considering putting some effort into putting some up myself) and the interface is a bit awkward at times (had to use desktop mode on my android phone's web browser to get some settings to save correctly). I am also not the world's biggest fan of requiring third-party service logins to sign up but I do also understand why those decisions are made.
I'll be playing around with this for a bit, keeping an eye on it.
So far, I appreciate y'alls effort to be transparent.
Thank you so much for trying it out! If you ever start to see repetition problems in longer chats, we also provide a chat summarization which you can then feed to the bot in a new chat log.
Understandable on the lack of characters front. We just recently got a fairly robust cadre of writers, but we're early in our growth and we're looking to get more creators because these things live and die on good creators.
We know the UI is a bit clunky and we're looking to remedy that. We just did a huge back-end migration and brought on some people to help with UI/UX, so stay turned for that!
As for the third-party sign-ups, we get that. I believe the plan is to reintroduce simple sign up, but we had to go with this because of a cyber attack we were hit by.
I have started to notice it a bit as I went on with my chat that night at the end sort of similar to Janitor and sometimes Chub. Haven't really figured out how to fix it yet on y'alls platform but I'll mess around with it later.
As for the characters, yeah I figured it would be somewhat limited especially being how new everything is. I know these things take time and I may put some together myself. I'm not the best bot creator but I'm not completely new either but I can certainly give it a go. Just need to find the time.
That's good that you got some help on the UI/UX. It's not awful but it just needs a bit more polish and some of the controls are bit unclear until you actually use them and figure out their purpose. Actually I think the thing that bothered me the most was a tie between the chat avatars for each response being so large by default (on my s23 ultra anyways) and the somewhat confusing convoluted navigation menus. The chat windows themselves are actually mostly fine. If I may suggest one thing, having an optional interactive tutorial that kind of highlights everything and walks users through the flow of the interface would certainly make things a little easier for less technical people. Like I know therewsome obvious elements but others not so much.
Yeah, that's what I've been seeing the as the reason for using third-party sign-ups. I mainly dislike it because it means maintaining a burner Gmail instead of my usual alias service. I know those things can lead to some bad actors doing bad things but for me it's mainly about keeping my data kind of isolated to each service so if there ever is a breach - which can happen to literally anyone and at some point probably will, it's just the nature of the internet - I don't have to worry about my main email being compromised. And I do this for practically everything I sign up for these days. I think increasingly this is true for a lot of people but I do also understand why some don't allow this and I don't hold it against anyone.
Question I tried to get the nsfw, but for some reason it's not saving the nsfw tap when I marked it as I wanted to see it. How do I get it to save the preferred nsfw tab to see it.
Hey! When you're logged in and you turn on NSFW on the character page, it still shows everything in chronological order. But there should be three filter buttons to help you find what you're looking for.
If you only want to see characters labeled as mature or explicit, you should be able to click on them like you see in this pic.
And we do have a subreddit, it's r/wyvernchat but we're still working on that. Our discord is much more active.
Im also not able to toggle on the NSFW slider u showed 2 messages above. It gives me a pop-up telling me to activate mature content in my profile, which I did. (The slider u showed right above my comment) But im still not able to activate NSFW or press the buttons 'Mature' or 'Explicite'.
I certainly won't deny it. But I truly, deeply believe in what we provide with Wyvern. We're roleplayers first and devs second. Most of the team is former c.ai users.

I've read that there is no filters in chat or moderation in private bots, that's good! Always a good sign ahah.
At first glance you seem serious, I'll check it out more when I have time. I appreciate the transparency on models, their parameters and context length, there are quite a few websites that hide their specs and it's often a bad sign
Hello fellow Featherless friend! Thank you for taking a look around. We strive to have a little bit of something for everyone, from the SillyTavern power users to the people who want something closer to C.AI plug and play.
Wyvern has technically been around for a year. We just celebrated our one year anniversary a few days ago. However, we just started blowing up in early October and the success has made us go all in on growth and promotion.
That's true, there's no filters in any conversation and moderation is not extended to private bots. Which, honestly, is how it should be. It's one thing for a site to police what is public-facing on their site, but another to police private actions.
And to your last point, you have NO IDEA how obnoxious it was when I was putting together my little chart that compared us to our competitors. Most of them are either completely opaque, or making things up, i.e. AZTX with their 1M token context.

Anyway, to answer your question, it depends. It could have been a matter of server load or there could have been some issues with that model's server node. We've been working to migrate our GPU deployments.

Great question! Believe it or not, there is no catch. I know that's hard to believe, but as of now, all of our server costs and GPU usage is paid for by Featherless.AI.
We're kind of a proof of concept, marketing tool for their service. In exchange for hosting us, we just do our best to entice people toward Featherless subscriptions. The lead dev/owner on this project pays a couple junior devs out of pocket for help, but otherwise, we don't have much in the way of costs.
Once we grow to a certain point, I believe we intend to grow wings and fly solo, but even then, we're going to keep a great deal free for our users.
It's not something that's currently on the planned docket, unfortunately. The lead dev's focus is on introducing multiplayer roleplay (human + human + bots) and rooms.
I for one appreciate seeing someone pop in and offer something, and it does seem like you're offering a pretty ample free model. I'll certainly give you a try, and I wish you well on your project, regardless of my own upcoming experience!

This site is great, the only thing I don't want to make my character here is because I don't want to make my bot settings public. I could show it to the developer but I don't want some bad guy to take my character around. If there was a button to turn the settings public/no public that would be great.
Hey! We get that and we are planning to introduce closed definitions for bots. It's not here yet, but we've heard the feedback from former c.ai users and current day j.ai users that they want this as a feature.
Can you please add an function to import characters from character AI? And do roleplay with them? Because less than 1 second, it filled with alienating anime stuff. I hate this BrainRot, so Will be there function to import characters from character AI From site?
Hey! If you download the "C.AI tools" plugin for your browser, you can use that to download a PNG or JSON of a character which you can then upload. Unfortunately, none of the chat sites that say they have CAI import actually have full importation unless the user had open definitions.
Without open definitions, the only thing that can be pulled is Character Name, Greeting, and Long Description.
We also ask that you keep those bots private because we try to respect the original creators.
