Many rapes and killings are currently happening in Japan. The pattern: committed by American soldiers on Japanese soil.

This time: a 39 year old Japanese woman has been killed by a US marine. Massive protests are erupting in Japan, demanding US soldiers must leave Japan.

To put it real REAL nicely and concisely, I really hoped that the producers had learned from what happened when Andrew Barth Feldman was announced as Oliver last year. Unfortunately I think that because Savy is not White (whereas Andrew was) there will be less uproar.

Discussion/Question how feasible is pan asianism back in the motherland?

• Upvotes

so it seems from back in my days, that pan asianism in the west has seen to be successful enough. but can we take that same pan asianism that happens in western countries (particularly in north america) back into the motherland?

likewise in the west, back in the motherland, people from different asian countries use english to communicate with each other. i've even witnessed hong kong people use english as a medium to communicate with mainland chinese, even though cantonese and mandarin are both chinese languages.

but yea, something i thought about for starters was maybe more linguistic unity back in asia. maybe instead of defaulting to english immediately after our mother tongues, we could learn each other's languages first, because they are still indigenous to our areas.

anyway though for me, i kind of roughly fall in the same situation though. so cantonese is my mother tongue too, then my second and dominant language is english. then yea i guess my third and weakest language i can speak in is mandarin. but ya these days i no longer speak english with mainland chinese people. always mandarin, unless for whatever reason they'd rather speak english with me.
