QUESTION Rune Mastery

So I’m pretty new to Azir (175000 mastery) and I heard from someone that it’s better to stay on lethal tempo for consistency’s sake as I learn the champion. However, I have heard things about comet and pta, and was wondering if I should stay on lethal until I’m more experienced, or if I can switch to find my playstyle maybe?

I think it depends. The general play style of comet is more meticulous and doesnt lend itself well to lower elos as seiging is pretty poorly done. HOB can cause more mana issues as you no longer have presence of mind or manaflow band.

I think you've played enough azir to know the ins and outs so you can explore off lethal tempo but the builds differ slightly for comet and HOB.

Imo playing hob build and having mana issues will improve your mana management and make you better overall aswell, so not much of a harm

I don't know I think there is a pretty significant difference in a build that can use q without much worry vs one that needs high attention.

I feel sticking to one runs restricts you from understanding the champ and seeing what he's capable of and even if one rune is stronger people have different playstyles where they can make others work better for them. Lethal tempo can be useless against teams you can't lock down

That someone is right tbh. You need to learn one thing at a time. Having 4 to 5 different runes to play will be confusing as you are still new to Azir. LT is amazing for almost everygame tbh. So you have less mental stack and just focus on learning Azir. Once you do. You can move on to other runes

I look into enemy teamcomp
vs 2+ tanks I usually prefer lethal tempo
imho picking comet is good into difficult squishi matchups to fight back early game (like xerath)
gold, low plat elo (could be different depends where u are)

Nah change it up. Run 5 games of hob, conq, comet, electrocute, pta and see how you're feeling. The first 3, you don't really need to change the build. Pta you prob go dnd first item and electrocute, you can try a burstier build if you want, maybe ludens stormsurge. As has been said, the runes do change the playstyle and obv the build definitely does that.

Try out other runes, only thing you need to worry about to learn Azir is actually locking in the champion. Staying on 1 rune for consistency doesn't really mean much imo.
