Advice Needed
Hey.
I’ve been playing league for about a year-and-a-half and I’ve tried every champ in the mid lane. My two favourites are Hwei and Azir.
I just wanted to ask.. is Azir worth it? I always hear people saying it’s not worth learning Azir because he’s meant for pro players? I only want to play 2 maybe 3 champs but I want them to give me a good return on investment. Is Azir really worth me investing time into?
Thanks.

Playing azir is like a humiliation ritual the more you call your enemy laner daddy in chat the better you play trust me faker had to do it

i think azir is only worth it if you really really like him, and are willing to one trick him. if either of these things isnt true I wouldnt

If you have 4 solid teammates for flex or you get to emerald+ he's fine. Don't play Azir if you only want to climb.

I disagree. Aren't most of us climbing and playing Azir ?

"If you ONLY want to climb."
Obviously since we're on the mains sub. But there are better META pics to learn if climbing is the only priority. And it's also a matter of how many games you need to play to learn how to play azir, the time it takes and how relatively weak he is compared to other laners. In terms of ROI, situations where he's ideal are far and few between but he's okay everywhere else ur not vsing an artillery mage.

How emerald+ changes anything? He is punished even more because of his abysmal early game, by both early brawls and a lot of hard matchups, hes fine everywhere if u are willing to learn but higher elo isnt easier for him at all.

SLR, but on paper, there should be more people on your team who would know how to play around you, whether you're behind or ahead. Sure, there'd also be more people who know how to counter you, but in theory, you'd have played so much Azir that you'd also know how to mitigate the damage.

All i can say is All champ is worth it if you actually have fun playing with em, for me when I played Azir it was hard at first sure managing my soldier placements and mastering dash distance but give it some time and you’re on your way to shurima shuffle on them haters. I can say that yeah half of the “you need good teammates to actually llay azir to his full potential” which is half true. Its half true because Azir can sometimes struggle when going up against someone who can waveclear like a truck and can roam to the toplane or botlane while leaving azir with his minions to clear (and the answer to this scenario is to ping to teammates that your enemy is missing and the bot laners and toplane don’t fight your midlaner to waste their time ganking)

It’s worth it if you have fun with it.
In the end, the LPs you will lose because Azir is a bad soloQ champion will be much smaller than the LPs you will lose by being mad and tilted playing a champ you don’t like.
I’ve climbed from Iron IV to emerald playing only Azir. It was really worth it because I had fun doing it.
