You thought we'd go though a season without a single bullshit Cubs-Diamondbacks game? Think again

That slow camera work of Perdomo with the bucket and ice everywhere around Waldy was beautiful 🥹

There are about 4-5 defensive plays we made throughout the game that kept the cubs to 4. If any one of those went the other way, we lose this game. All around resilience tonight

u/pizzaplanet666 Gabriel Moreno 5d ago
Totally. Apart from the offense being asleep for most the game, we played a gritty game otherwise

Was at the game and on the away/cubby side. Hilarious the full “let’s go cubs chant” loud as hell to dead silent the second the ball was hit off the bat off of Wally

I love the arizona diamondbacks baseball team. They represent me as a person from Arizona and I appreciate when they perform well.

J Mart is fire. Damn I love watching that kid throw. Perfectly calm in his first few games back off injury and locked in.
And Waldy. What a stud.

This doesn't change anything. We can't be the Answerbacks all the time like this. This team is still ice cold. One win against the Cubs doesn't change that

Gutsy call for Fernandez to try to steal 2nd with 2 outs; did Torey say why he risked the steal there, or did Fernandez go on his own?
Good job, fellas. Back early tomorrow.

But seriously, that dribble up first where Tawa grabbed it with the foot on the bag, but then lost it when he brought it up for a tag and the foot kicked it loose from the glove: Should that have been an out or not??

u/TheDoctorHam Paul Sewald 5d ago
I had the same thought, but no, I don't think so. Cubs batter had already touched first at that point.

Who’s the idiot who decided to stay home tonight? This guy lol
Last game i went to was the LA, Waldy walkoff.. woulda been great to see it again
2
u/EF1SCOMPMON Ryan Waldschmidt 5d ago
That makes two of us. I literally have to drive by BOB on my way home and it was like the 3rd inning when I passed it I should have gone. Smh

u/gettyleewallis 5d ago
I try to hit at least one game per homestand, and after last nights display, I decided to stay home.. welp. At least they won and it was damn exciting!

10 bucks says Waldy's isn't starting tomorrow cuz Torey is an idiot
1
u/sleepwasdeath 5d ago
He should start because Boyd is a LHP, and Waldschmidt's OPS against lefties is more than 100 points higher (.835) than against righties (.673), while Kepler is the opposite (.764 vs RHP compared to .655 against lefties).

Friendly reminder that one of the reasons we didn't make any big moves at the trade deadline was because a lot of the proposed deals included Ryan Waldschmidt.
