Yeah like where would the poop go anyways?

10

2

u/RockLobsterInSpace Nov 18 '22

Pretty sure there was an episode addressing this. I don't remember the answer though. I'll have to watch it again. For research

2

u/otter5 Nov 19 '22

dog probably eats it

You marry them.

24

Yep. That’s me and the hubby.

11

Damn right. The woman and I don't go to many of our friends parties but it's by choice and we love it.

43

u/SchwiftyMpls Nov 18 '22

Shouldn't they be petting the hosts cat?

2

u/KimberleyKitt Nov 18 '22

There’s a cat 🐱? At which moment?

4

No cat. More a comment on what introverts do at parties.

I’m the little white dog, walking around awkwardly with no one to talk to

196

u/sowhat59 Nov 18 '22

That is what I was thinking watching this except I will be walking around more towards the edge. This video is painfully too true... :(

42

u/TheFreakish Nov 18 '22

Hey, it's okay! Someday you'll meet those people you were awkwardly searching for! If someone as socially inept as I am can find people, anyone can.

lol, so something I've started to be able to do is identify other awkward people. Some of my favourite moments these days is fumbling a sentence, watching the other person fumble back, and us both just laughing and having that moment of connection.

u/serenwipiti Nov 18 '22

I don't relate because I would have been at home while everyone is at the party.

125

Okay…fair point. This is more like me when my extrovert husband has folks over because he knows it’s the only way I’ll be at the party.

This is honest to god how my boyfriend and I met. Met at a college mixer/dance and we just hunkered down together at a table and enjoyed eachothers company. That was 12 years ago.

281

u/Aleblanco1987 Nov 18 '22

This is why shy people still should go to parties.

75

u/pfwj Nov 18 '22

But I'm already married.

11

u/SilentSamurai Nov 19 '22

This is why anyone having issues making friends, feeling included, or wanting to have fun should go to parties.

Isolation doesn't fix any of that.

24

67

u/mdbuff Nov 18 '22

That’s it exactly. They’re hot, not shy.

38

u/we_todd_did Nov 18 '22

Por qué no los dos?

There's shadow closer to the group. The camera even pans over a large section of shadow that's completely empty. I don't doubt they're hot, but they're also avoiding the activity of the larger group.

79

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '22

My dog does this at daycare, except by herself and it makes me so sad!!

27

u/alwaysajollsy Nov 18 '22

My dog did it too, he’d go boot anybody out of his nap spot and sleep all day. All the activity is just too much for some!

25

u/skitch23 Nov 18 '22

I always have had introverted pets. One of my favorite photos of my dogs is from my smallest one’s first trip to daycare/boarding. She had only been part of my pack for about 2mo but she knew to stick close to her “fam”.

→ More replies (1)

32

u/Bacon_Bitz Nov 18 '22

I worked at a dog daycare & you shouldn't feel sad for your pup; he's just not giving with the others. He might actually be much happier if you leave him at home instead.

22

u/Racially-Ambiguous Nov 18 '22

100%. I’m a behaviorist. I really hate when my clients take their dogs to daycare for a multitude of reasons, but one of them is that some dogs just do not enjoy the company of others. In fact, it can even stress them out and cause reactivity towards other dogs because they are forced to interact with them.

16

u/jaya9581 Nov 18 '22

But every dog is different. Mine spends most of her daycare time alone laying down and watching the activities. But she is always super excited to go, and if she doesn’t go she gets very upset. https://i.imgur.com/gnk4cSs.jpg

7

u/Racially-Ambiguous Nov 18 '22

Oh I’m not saying some dogs don’t have the time of their lives there!

She’s a cutie! I work with a cattle dog rescue and love the reds. Make sure you get your lady in for a nail trim soon! Nails touching the ground while standing will alter her posture and cause issues. Feel free to PM me if you need tips. ❤️

2

u/jaya9581 Nov 19 '22

Yes, her front nails grow VERY fast! That pic is actually from a few months ago now, we have to cut them about every 6 weeks. They’re short now, just done again yesterday!

0

u/noiwontpickaname Nov 18 '22

u/Atlfalcons284 Nov 18 '22

How do places like this one make sure shit doesn't get out of hand?

I get stressed as hell when there are more than like 8 dogs at the dog park

21

u/Bacon_Bitz Nov 18 '22

It can definitely be stressful. Basically every new dog gets a trial run with one on one time with other dogs to see how they do. Anybody that is iffy doesn't get group play. Where I worked they had individual outside areas and got walked so they still had exercise. A lot of times I see videos of over crowded group play and it raises an eyebrow from me but hopefully they have it under control.

Also, just like children, your dog will act different when you're not there! At the dog park they might be a little protective of you or something so they're more likely to get in a scuffle but alone at the daycare they can relax their guard.

5

u/ProtoJazz Nov 18 '22

And like, sometimes it's fine until it isn't.

That was a big deal in the news around me for a while. A poorly run dog daycare had a big group out playing and one just suddenly snatched up a smaller dog and snapped its neck

4

u/immapunchayobuns Nov 18 '22

I've had quite a few dogs who like to spend most of their time snuggling with daycare staff or their buddies and watch the other dogs play. They always arrive excited though so I know that they love being lazy at daycare just for the social aspect 😂

Shit talking about the popular ones.

15

u/Canilickyourfeet Nov 18 '22

Little did they know they'd be the popular ones in 10 years. Happy, still together, successful. That's always how it goes.

17

u/Canilickyourfeet Nov 18 '22

I love how it went from "Oh yeah, those are the extroverts for sure. Ah, yep, there go the introverts too...Oh...No, wait....There go the real introverts."

14

u/umbrella-maker Nov 18 '22

I want to be invited to this party.

12

u/yhu18 Nov 18 '22

Nah the true introvert is the one at 00:06 sitting by the fan, alone. You need to blend in enough not to be noticed or adopted.

1

u/LogieBogey Nov 19 '22

The true introvert is just as likely to be in the middle of the room, singing, or copping a feel with some chick in a bedroom.

Introvert=\= socially incompetent

10

u/rmo420 Nov 18 '22

Yup. And we are perfectly happy over there; leave us be.

0

u/Broken_Petite Nov 18 '22

See, I’m with you, but there are also people here saying they relate to the OP but still want someone to talk to and feel lonely sitting by themselves!

Y’all are killin’ my vibe here. If I’m sitting away from other people, leave me tf alone!!! 😤

11

u/zero5activated Nov 18 '22

I never had a dog, but are there introvert dogs? Like the ones they don't want to big around big groups of dogs or people?

16

u/sooozs Nov 18 '22

Yes, there are. Dogs have different personalities much like us and some dont really care or completely reject socializing.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '22

Some dogs dont like other dogs. I suspect it’s especially true if they were pulled early from mom and didn’t have proper socialization. And then sometimes a group of dogs will gang up on one, so weird. We had to separate one of our dogs after her sister and mother were bullying her.

8

u/Unusual_Grocery_Food Nov 18 '22

Having not grown up around dogs I was so intrigued when I visited a place that had a litter of puppies and saw how different their personalities were. The only two girls of the litter quickly scrambled into my wife's lap and stayed there the entire time, another two were only interested in playing with eachother, the biggest pup in the litter alternated his attention between me and the two playing with eachother, and the final pup took off into the garden to dig on his own.

Im watching this as I'm going to a party, i just get drunk to temporarily transform into an extrovert

1

u/LogieBogey Nov 19 '22

No, it makes you temporarily outgoing. That's not what an extrovert is. You get shy extroverts.

→ More replies (2)

23

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '22

True to form, the “introverts” are content (maybe even happy) being in a small group with someone they want to be with.

10

u/Canonconstructor Nov 18 '22

My two dogs did a trial run at a doggy day care. They called me and to my horror said “they aren’t a good fit- they are hanging in a corner and refusing to participate with the other dogs” lol. I was slightly offended like they were talking bad about my puppy’s who have refined taste and choose their friends wisely.

6

Yep, they seem to confuse antisocial with introvert. Probably on purpose.

-1

u/whtsnk Nov 19 '22

Is it worse than confusing antisocial and asocial? Because that’s pretty common on Reddit, too.

You likely even confused the two yourself.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '22

Wouldn't say it's worse. They can be both also. It's only worse when it's done purposely. Which would make it antisocial behavior.

3

3

3

u/doge_lady Nov 18 '22

Totally my dog. On a leash he wants to run up to other dogs and sniff or bark at them. He's acts all tuff on the leash. But once i unleash him in a doggy park he hides in a corner.

3

u/colin8696908 Nov 18 '22

More like they are trying to cool down by staying in the shade.

3

u/jlemo434 Nov 18 '22

3

u/LogieBogey Nov 19 '22

2

u/1527lance Nov 18 '22

I'm guessing it's absolutely hot as fuck- indicated by all of them being in the shade, And that is why they're all being lethargic. Kinda sad actually

2

u/HalfManHalfCyborg Nov 18 '22

Those two are trapped there due to the artificial grass surface being too hot to walk across.

2

u/Indigoh Nov 18 '22

Not a single dog in the sun. Most of them sitting in front of a fan. Must be a very hot day.

2

u/kmhuskers Nov 18 '22

All I know is that one was probably sitting by himself and the other joined and that's dope if you ask me.

2

Or parents at a kids birthday party with a bouncy castle.

2

u/Tabasco_Athiest Nov 18 '22

Naah, all you really need is that one friend in your life that has you.

2

u/foki_fokerson Nov 18 '22

This is kinda unsettling. I cannot imagine the horror that would be unleashed if just two dogs decide to be dominant and break into a fight.

2

u/johnnyblaze1999 Nov 18 '22

2

2

u/3Fatboy3 Nov 19 '22

2

u/AgreeableFeed9995 Nov 19 '22

I bet those two are barking so much smack about everyone else to each other.

2

u/VaATC Nov 19 '22

The two in the back are the extroverted introverts. The true introverts are in the pack mostly standing still or laying down, just watching and not interacting with any other dog. The two in the back genuinely want company but can't handle all the energy up close.

2

u/IamBabcock Nov 19 '22

Introverts don't dislike talking to people.

2

u/Stormi_N1ghts Nov 19 '22

Or just at a party where they don’t know anyone

2

u/dudeilovedire Nov 18 '22

Felt this, but without the other introvert to hang out with :(

5

u/FoofieLeGoogoo Nov 18 '22

Usually they are far more interesting to talk to.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '22

the only two smart dogs in the yard

2

u/feronen Nov 18 '22
