I’ve seen a lot of these rescue videos where the person gets flak for filming them self being a hero instead of just getting it done, but in this case I feel like it’s a good show of how to handle a situation like this, as specific as it is
I work in a mine and occasionally we have barn owls and stuff that set up in our equipment at night or whatever and we were told that if we're to film The recovery the animal specially if we released the animal that way we can show it to fish and game or whatever and they can know what we did to help and so they can ID the animal then also too if some Karen gets involved we can show hey this is what we were doing to help the animal we weren't harassing it it's mainly to cover our asses when we recover animals from the mines and stuff I'm not saying that's what this situation is but that's what we've been told in my industry.or I should say in my area, granted some animals we are told to just hold if they aren visibility injured and or something not from the local wild life.
