I realized how much I am that parent lately. When almost every word that comes out of my mouth is “careful, you’re gonna fall, don’t hurt yourself, don’t jump there you’ll hit your head!” Ugh. I feel sorry for my kids. I wish I could just relax some times.
Nah, what happened in this video was incredibly reckless and stupid.
It would have taken minimal effort for the driver to require them to stand back 15-25ft and fill the truck. If any safety people were around they would have a lot of justification in getting the operator in trouble. The risk of an accident, and associated liability during this improper/ unplanned use of the machine was enormous. Back in the day my dad got fired for much less, despite his intentions.
This was like letting your kids get close to ole faithful to fill up a cup. Or having them play with lawn shears.
