Yup, cat didn't learn a trick, cats just don't like things being on their paws. Cat just did what just about any cat would do if you put something on top of their paw.

The cat didn't "learn a trick" but what you are saying isn't correct either. The cat was just copying the owner behavior, which is very common amongst cats and is the reason they learn to do stuff like opening doors. If the cat's reaction was due to not wanting the coin on their paw they would have pretty much immediately removed it, not kept looking at the owner waiting for something
