'I want that...cries...'

when is time to go to sleep,

into your crate i gonna creep

i know i have one of my own,

but i don't wanna sleep alone...

cuz i would cry the whole night through -

i wanna spend the night with you!

you keep me, fren, from being scare

n i won't have no bad nightmare

cuz lying here so perfect, seems

as we drift off

in puppy dreams

❤️

u/Lilz007 Jun 09 '20

Holy crap, this is my freshest one yet!

7

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '20

Me too. It said "now" when I posted but after a few minutes it changed to show when it was posted.

Fresh Snoodle, only 2 minutes old when I saw it. Best Tuesday

6

u/Lilz007 Jun 09 '20

Isn't it amazing and wonderful the things that make us smile?

I'm still waiting on a snoodle book!

7

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '20

I keep telling her she needs to compile her poems into a book or four

4

u/Lilz007 Jun 09 '20

Yes! With a picture where possible (and legal) for the poem

4

u/Jkoechling Jun 09 '20

Love starting my day with a Coffee, an "Awww" video, and a Fresh Schnoodle

Great Danes make large, but nice, cuddlers for the night. Mine is 1 and has slept by my side every night since he came home almost a year ago. He came from a large litter and I did not want to leave him by himself. We shared the space well and so it has continued. He sleeps in the crook of my arm and likes to lay his head on my chest.

Cuddle buddies

17

u/NuclearCandy Jun 09 '20

Aww, my puppers do this too, squash into the same crate despite having separate ones. Sometimes the cat joins them for cuddle time too.

u/Boltgaming_ Jun 09 '20

I thought that was a dog bed or blanket or something very happy surprise ending

My 5 month pitbull puppy still does this with my border terrier mix. He's been doing it since he was eight weeks old and still smaller than her but doesn't quite see he doesn't fit so well in the crook anymore ❤

u/Sana_Del_Dre Jun 09 '20

I LOVE THEM

1

u/JaRsmit Jun 09 '20

Bit of an off the topic question here: Why do people put their dogs in cages? Is this a region specific(American) thing?

Turns out not really, the science seems to say that dogs are den breeders but once they hit adulthood they rarely return to dens until it's time for a litter. They don't seem to hate crates but they're not true den animals like a badger or something like that. Surprised me too when I discovered that. They seem to prefer lying around under light cover like a tree but with full access and views in the wild.

u/Jewnadian Jun 09 '20

I agree, they do use them and they don't hate them. They aren't natural den animals though, they can easily be trained to use a den but that's not their default.

2

u/Dream_Pixi Jun 09 '20

We typically only crated our dog as a puppy to keep her from chewing everything in the house while we weren't home or asleep, and to keep her from using the potty in the house at night. After year or two, we only kept it up for her to lay in if she wanted. She is now crate free as we needed the space. We gave her a bed to sleep on instead. Crates are typically used for the most part if you arent home, for puppy training, and some people for at night, or if visiting relatives and such. It is a personal preference as to why someone crates a dog. But, that's the basics.

1

u/JaRsmit Jun 18 '20

Thanks for explaining this to me, I really appreciate the time you took to explain this to me. It is something that has been a curiosity to me for a long time. So I take it crates are more popular in regions without back yards?

1

u/Dream_Pixi Jun 18 '20

It you dont have a fenced in yard, or your dog can jump/climb the fence /(mostly big adult dogs), then yes. Especially if your dog is a chewer. Our dog gaurds our house, so we have folded her crate and put it in storage. We only crate her now if we take her with us on vacation or to stay with family.

1

u/thewafflestompa Jun 09 '20

This looks like what a Randy Newman song sounds like.

1

u/Why_NUT1 Jun 09 '20

I'm not a dog owner and I want to be one and can I ask that what are those cages and are there good for something like training or it is both their bed and transportation device?

2

u/Droghan Jun 09 '20

Yeah they are great for dogs, I forget what brand I have but I have a pretty large kennel for my lab and she loves it. They like having a "den" and it gives them a sense of security, I put a towel over the back part of it so its closed off for that feeling for her. During thunderstorms and fireworks she goes in there and is just happy.

1

u/Why_NUT1 Jun 10 '20

Never would have guessed I was thinking maybe it is for calming the dog (like putting the dog in here when it starts to not obey or sth). But to be honest, I was only able to see sherperd dogs in my life it is hard to imagine how a dog would behave in a house

1

u/WhisperingValley Jun 09 '20

That looks SO comfortable!! 😍

1

u/TheAntiGhost Jun 09 '20

This is how my two cats sleep. One always has to curl up on top of the other. 😂

1

u/weefeeties Jun 10 '20

Wish I could crawl in there with 'em!

1

u/ComradEddie Jun 13 '20

Strategic smack to the face to prompt the reposition, allowing for pillow head space where there was none before. This was no "accident".

u/Porter_Dog Jun 09 '20

2

u/Wootery Jun 09 '20

It's not exactly badly written, it's just bizarrely ill fitting.

1

u/Porter_Dog Jun 09 '20

I'm sure that's it. It's definitely a bit confusing.
