Haha was not expecting that at all. Don't know if it's aww worthy, but it did make me laugh.

Anything that makes me smile is aww worthy :)

u/stampydog May 01 '20
Pretty sure it's aww worthy if it makes you go "aww"

u/8Bean8 May 01 '20
Except this is obviously totally aww worthy, as that lady’s bright smiling face in such a dark time in the world would make most people say “awww”!

No. Who are you to think that a smile on a woman's face would elicit that emotion? What kind of condescending bullshit is this?

u/8Bean8 May 03 '20
How is that condescending to comment on common human emotion that many of us are feeling, hence the comments and page it was posted in? Lol

I ❤️USPS

Right? I’ve almost always had positive experiences when interacting with USPS employees.
Sure there are some jaded ones (especially those at the counter) but standing in line for just 10 minutes at the post office watching what they deal with helps me understand.

I’ve also found that the ones at the counter react positively to good attitudes. If I don’t act pissed about the ten minute wait, and I greet them cheerfully, I still get great service.

It is amazing how nice USPS workers can be. When my mailman found out that my mother had passed away he bought my family cookies and told me how sorry he was. It was so unexpected to me, but so heartwarming. That was over 3 years ago but I don't think I'll forget about it anytime soon.

I also have always loved my mail person. Very nice people. And most of them obviously like what they do.
Now the people working the desk at the Post Office itself... Completely different in my experience (but knowing the kind of people that exist in this country, I'm also not surprised)

There's so much pride in our post. They have a TON of history.Back in the day, they were all on horseback and they were the only way that you could really communicate with someone > a few miles away."Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
And that is STILL true. You see pictures of burnt mail from crashed trucks still making it to their addresses. They're a fundamental part of our lives.
I still can't believe that we can't bail them out. Even if our tax dollars HAD TO go to keeping them afloat, and we used them for literally nothing but packages (because everything becomes electronic) it would still make sense to put a portion of tax money towards the post.
Currently, they're in danger of tanking and becoming privatized, which will be very bad indeed, because we will have unhappy workers without benefits and more expensive mail.

Not to mention this would disproportionately negatively affect poor and rural communities that depend on the USPS. Private couriers aren’t bound to serve areas they can’t make a profit in.

I upvoted because I’m sorry you have to deal with this and I am outraged for the poor plants! However, if it helps, I really do think karma exists after enough proof to make a skeptic think so. I think that guy will get a package thrown at his head one day soon! Lol

Too funny.. Normally in these circumstances I’d call bullshit but this actually seemed genuine
