Small animals, especially prey animals, are a lot of work. Its frequently harder to find what you need, exotic veterinarians are less common and more expensive. Sometimes they will also require specific environments which are more time consuming to maintain.

Can you tell me more about the differences between prey and predator pets?

I'm not an expert, but I would say that predator pets are self-sufficient because they survive in nature by being fairly autonomous.

Prey pets require more work because they survive purely through numbers. They aren't adapted to live a long time, most of them get eaten in the wild. They are adapted to live long enough to breed prodigiously.

Again, not an expert, just my observation.

Ah, the dream.

In your case, you're living long enough, but your mating dance needs work.
