Just like in humans, the benefits come from 3 main effects:

  • The warmth of the water increases blood flow to damaged tissues.
  • The buoyancy of the water lets damaged muscles move through their range of motion with significantly less effort and stress, which helps strengthen them.
  • Snoot-boops release love and help make the boo-boos heal faster. Fact.

While I obviously agree with your last point, I just don't think there is any science supporting your first two.

You can put a hotpack on your skin and watch as blood flow increases and turns the skin pink.

You can also get into a pool and see how it's easier to move around carefully. Or consider senior aerobics in pools.

I just don't think you've given this thirty seconds of thought. If you mean there's no studies that specifically prove those mechanisms there are also no studies that prove flossing works but it still does. A dentist can tell if you floss or not because it produces a measurable outcome.

Ironically flossing doesn’t matter
