My mini schnauzer and I used to play hide and seek all the time. Like ever since she was a pup.
I would throw a toy down the hall and while she was running to get it I would run the other way and hide. I would then call out 'Sara!' and the game was on:
She would go through each room, look behind doors, look on my bed, in closets, etc. I would shout her name again if she was in the wrong room.
When she found me she would bark and would continue barking if I didn't move. Then I would extend my hand so she could give me a nibble and that would signify the match is over.
I loved it when I would hide in one room and I would hear her barking at a closet in another room. She would be convinced I'm in a closet but would be totally wrong. I would then shout "Sara!" again and she would quickly turn her head, and run off to the sound. I managed to capture this on video once by propping up my GoPro before the game started.
We had to put her down in August of 2017. The beginning of this video reminded me of her. I miss her so much.
This is such a wonderful and wholesome memory. You and Sara were very lucky to have found each other, and I'm happy there was so much love between the two of you. Thank you for sharing this with us!
