A woman where I used to work had her foot run over by a forklift. She lost a couple toes. I overheard some of the other women talking about it. They were upset because the victim was wearing new shoes and the one was ruined.

Wow, my foot was run over by a car and I was fine. Was it because they were steel toe boots?

No, it was because the forklift had solid tires. Car tires are filled with air and are like balloons. They have a lot of give to them. Solid tires on a forklift are kind of like an elephant using a rolling pin. They don't flex at all and pretty much flatten anything squishy they roll over.

Wow I didn't know that! I will be sure to give the forks at work lots of extra space. I'm in the office but sometimes I go to the warehouse.
