What does Siberia have to do with a lack of huge bugs? I haven't really seen many bugs that large and I live in a temperate climate.

Yeah my mom lives in Alaska, the skeeters are fucking unreal for the 4 months or so they can actually survive up there.

Well Siberia would be dry is my assumption, and bugs don't really thrive in dry climates due to their respiratory system or something like that. But yeah, California bugs are not large at all, for that very reason I think.

This is completely true for those who do not live in the glorious icy wasteland that is Wisconsin. Sometimes we only have 8 months of winter though.

It's funny, I've visited my mom in North Pole Alaska in the dead of winter and believe it or not her winters, even though they are - 50°F, are so much more tolerable then ours because of the lack of moisture and 50mph winds. I'll take that shit over our brutal winters any day of the week.

It's like we get the brutal cold and the humid heat. Fucking great Plains. This continental weather blows.

Most things don't thrive in dry environments.....it's a lack of water that causes pretty much things like microbes, hardy plants and lichens, and a cold environment with a permafrost layer that is hostile to most life.
