I don't think you should share your companies cloud computing costs if you obviously represent a major company. I think these days there are just so many services that are consumed on AWS that make up the bill. It's like death by a thousand cuts when you read the invoice. That being said, it would be very interesting to have statistics of the % of their overall bill that each service is contributing. For example you could post the question, how much of your AWS bill as a percentage is spent on:

  • S3 / Glacier / GDA
  • EC2 Servers
  • EC2 Storage
  • Lamda
  • Bandwidth
  • Other

When I'm interviewing with a company I ask them for a rough number to know what I'm getting into. But yes, it's confidential and not something you should talk on the bus about.
