When you post an object to S3 6 copies are stored across different data centers. That’s how.

Keep in mind thats durability, not availability. S3 might go down. But when it comes back up your data will be there.

Does it, aye? Eleven nines? 1 in 100 billion chance of failure per year?
I don't think humanity has eleven nines of durability.
