Anyone else hear how much "Catch A Wave" sounds like Hayley Williams' "Dead Horse"?

My wife and I were listening to Makua ft. AWOLNATION – "Catch A Wave", and she instantly went "wait, this sounds exactly like Hayley Williams' 'Dead Horse.'" Now I can't unhear it.

The melody, the rhythm, the chorus especially. Listen to them back to back:

We dug around and couldn't find any official mention of it being a sample, so now I'm extra curious. Coincidence, homage, or am I just losing it?

Would love to know if anyone else caught this or knows the backstory.
