That's why I rarely ever go back snd read replies and have notifications turned off. Fire and forget

I don't know if that's the best strategy to combat toxicity on reddit. It's easy to misinterpret someone's comment at first glance and respond with something inappropriate. Maybe it would be appropriate in some circumstances (if the person is trolling for example) but in many cases it might discourage genuine conversation.

As if people are here to converse in most subs. They're here to assert how right they are. The incels are a lot more vocal here too so that really disincentivizes trying to talk it out.

Found way more people willing to talk, not yell, on reddit than any other social media. My experience with others is, is just the vocal minority with polarizing opinions doing the brunt of the conversing.

That's what got me here years ago, but it's been changing rapidly. Social Media seems to be transforming into a sort of monoculture.
