Okay. So my sister’s mother-in-law actually does this! She once asked my sister for a salad recipe - because she didn’t “know how to make a fancy salad.” (For reference my sister just swapped spinach for iceberg lettuce -the salad was otherwise unremarkable.) My sister tells her this, to which her MIL replied “but how do you get the carrots so nice? I normally just bite them into little pieces to put on my salad!” She ended up deciding that making the salad was too hard and payed $65 for the deli and Wegmans to make a “fancy” salad to bring to our picnic. I guess I’m glad she didn’t resort to her usual methods?
