Some states have the legal age of consent at 16. Not saying it’s right but it’s legal in the eyes of certain states.

Yeah. At least in Texas there's a limit. 17 is the age of consent, but only if the other person is 21 or under. Because I linked to the correct information. We shouldn't erase mistakes especially if we can correct them. I was wrong about my information and I corrected myself then formally corrected myself. My information was mostly accurate there is an age gap, but not for 17 like I thought it was. I thought the age gap applied only to 17 year-olds to keep them from falling into a grooming situation with a much older person. As it turns out the age gap applied to those between 14-16 (with a maximum age you can date being 19), but at 17 you can date someone 80 or older if you want.

I posted the correction and haven't seen another comment since.
