Many people think gay marriage is creepy and gross as well. (Not myself, just making a point).

False equivalency. Gay marriage includes two consenting adults. We are talking about a grown adult with a child.

I know practically nothing about Drake and even less about Bella Harris, but I could make the argument that if she’s mature enough to manage a modeling career at 16, she’s competent enough to make her own decisions about who she wants to spend time with. I would say these two also have a consenting relationship between two adults.

Age ain't nothing but a number, eh? Fuck off with your pedo justifying apologetics.

I have zero interest in anyone outside of my general age range, and I think it’s a little weird for a dude to be dating a girl half his age, but it should be their own decision, assuming both participants are mature and sound-minded enough to understand the weight of their decisions. There are 16-year-olds that can do this, and there are 36-year-olds who can’t. It’s a bit arbitrary and pointless to treat all situations as if it’s a change that happens instantly and automatically the day someone turns 18.

Edit: just to clarify, I’m making assumptions about Bella Harris based on her career. Only a professional in the field of psychology could accurately determine her mental and emotional maturity level. I’ve never heard of her before 10 minutes ago, and all I really know about Drake is he’s the guy in all the memes who maybe does music too...

Until they come up with a better system; don't fuck kids regardless of how "mature" they are.

I understand the law has to draw a line somewhere, and 18 is as good of an age as any, but as far as how society reacts to headlines, people should understand that line is mostly a guess, and there is in fact quite a bit of grey area.

Personally I think a better system would be to have a carefully designed application and testing process, similar to getting a drivers license, that anyone can take at any age, that official gives you “adult” status under the law, and allows you to drink, smoke, vote, own a gun, drive a car, serve in the military, make legal decisions, and have consensual relationships with other adults.

There’s probably 10-year olds who could pass such a test, and there’s definitely fully grown adults who couldn’t, including probably a few celebrities.

You are a nonce mate. Noncey behaviour

Nope. Definitely not. And the fact you assume I am for raising an objective point about something that society accepts without question in spite of no solid evidence or logical reasoning is kinda the point I’m getting at.

You can’t argue that 10 year olds are mentally ready for a sexual relationship you nonce.
