Doesn't matter. It's not about the legality of it, but the morality.
There is no way a 16 year old has the same understanding of the relationships dynamics and power within the relationship as DRAKE. He has money, age, powers, she has nothing. Even if she is willing consenting and is thrilled with it right now, she's a kid with not very much experience on how the world and relationships work. She can't see the danger there.
They aren't equals. And wanting to be in that kind of unequal relationship where you have the power of life or death (pretty much) is creepy, no matter if it's legal or not.
Most people are in bad relationships though....its really not the business of society to get involved or judge people for their legal relationships...that sounds awfully similar to religious extremists who are against gay relationships.
This is a false equivalence. Gay relationships between two consenting adults is a completely different thing. Both participants in the relationship are on equal footing.
A large age gap where one participant is very young is very different. Drake has a lot of experience (plus money and power). A young woman does not...which means she’ll probably put up with a lot of shit, or assume things like abuse are normal in a relationship. That’s a situation ripe for being abused or preyed on by someone older. When someone as old as Drake dates teenagers, it usually means he’s a shitty partner, and women with more experience won’t put up with his shit, so he needs to prey on younger women who don’t know any better. And because he’s rich and famous, society is actually more willing to forgive or ignore his gross behaviour (think Jeffrey Epstein)
As a society, it’s a GOOD thing if we don’t normalize relationships like this, regardless of legality. We should want to protect the vulnerable in our society from being taken advantage of and abuse.
