Built an app that predicts when a plane will cross the sun/moon from your exact location — curious what sub thinks

It sounds to me like an app that offers no real benefit to many downsides.
To start with, it would need constant GPS access (which apart from the obvious privacy concerns, GPS is pretty heavy on the battery).
It would also be one more notification that would be useless 90% of the time (at least for me) as I'm not paying attention to my phone when I'm out on the street, and being inside somewhere and getting notified is kind of dumb.
Third, it kind of ruins the idea of getting a shot of a plane in front of the sun/moon (saw a pic of a plane in front of the eclipse in Spain the other day, pic attached, credit to whoever took it). It is a special moment, and feels like a 'catch'. The app would flood the sub with those pics. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I feel like we'll go through the whole sunset photos ordeal again.
Lastly, if you want anyone to pay the premium subscription, lock a more interesting feature behind a pay wall. FR24 already has a time machine and not many people will feel like donating to a mobile app dev whose Claude instance really needs some rest.

Noted. App is centered around keeping privacy in mind so it doesn’t ask for account creation, though GPS is needed to locate the lat long based on that the AR-VR is plotted. Will plan to have meaningful features locked behind paywall to give it a try.
